I was VERY leary about ordering furniture online. I wanted to see it & touch it & sit in the chairs. But, I couldn't find anything in the local furniture stores that even campared to this one - style as well as price. I took a chance & ordered it. WE LOVE IT! The wood is beautiful. I had done some research & discovered this table was made of rubberwood. Ew, that didn't sound good. But, upon further investigation, there is lots of furniture made of rubberwood, even tables I saw at Haverty's Furniture. (a higher end dealer) The wood grain is nice & the table & chairs are sturdy. The chairs were a lot more assembly that what we thought, but eventually we got them all done. They were easy, just time consuming. This table is as beautiful as it looks in the picture!!! We shopped all over for a 54 inch round table for our breakfast nook...didnt want to spend thousands of dollars since it is not our dining room table and we have kids using it everyday. This table looks and feels like we paid thousands, but we didnt. It took my husband five minutes to put it together...great purchase! We needed a dining table for our newly completed room which is a second living room but also a alternate place to have dinner, especially in hot weather. So, we needed a table with a low profile but that could also expand to easily fit 8. This table is perfect for our needs. It has one leaf which is easy to remove and it has the two fold down ends. These are especially well designed as when they are extended there is nothing under the table to hit one's leg and the end lies perfectly straight with no gap or angle. I ordered two tables for the small space in the kitchen to go with two small backless benches. This photograph gives the impression that the table top is copper. It is not. It's a metal with a copper-like finish. One table is done nicely, the other has some spots where the finish was rubbed off, and they tried to repair the spots. It's on the side of the table, not the top, so it's not that noticeable. For the price, I can't complain too much.
