I have two children (ages 3 and 19 months when I purchased this for Christmas in 2013), and did an extensive amount of research on various kitchens. First I wanted something gender neutral since my oldest is a boy, and second, I wanted something of good quality that could grow with them. I wanted a wood kitchen because I felt it would look nicer, last longer, and provide more storage than a plastic kitchen. I narrowed my choices down to this one and the Kidkraft Corner Kitchen. What finally sold me on this one was the fact that the counter height was taller as was the kitchen in general. I have to say I am really happy with my choice! My youngest (19 months at the time of purchase) was a tad short to reach inside the microwave and pull anything out, but she could open the door and put stuff in. Now at 28 months she has absolutely no problem (side note: she is off the charts tall for her age - which is why I chose the taller one to begin with). Other than the small reaching problem initially, it is perfect! There is an ample amount of storage both in the refrigerator/freezer, and in the oven and dishwasher. Just to give you an idea of how much it holds we have the following items stored in the kitchen itself: The Dishwasher holds: Green Toys Dish Set Kidkraft pots and pans All the various cooking utensils from the different play food sets Additional four cups I picked up from the Target dollar bin Oven Holds: Melissa and Doug Cookie sheet Melissa and Doug Pizza Melissa and Doug Birthday Cake Refrigerator Holds: Melissa and Doug Felt Sandwich Set Small World Living Peel and Play Vegetables and Fruit Pancakes (I made) Hape Salad Hape Hamburgers and Hot Dogs Melissa and Doug Condiment Bottles Melissa and Doug Refrigerator Food Empty kid size yogurt cups Haba Vegetables Plan Toys Spaghetti Freezer Holds (and could hold more): Ice Cream Freezer Foods from the Melissa and Doug Refrigerator Food set Sitting out on the top shelf and edge of the counter are the Hape Toaster and Hape Coffee Maker. There is STILL room for more if we wanted to add anything (which is totally unnecessary at this point). The only thing I would change about this kitchen is that I would add a third shelf inside the refrigerator just so it would be easier to organize, but like I said, it holds PLENTY of play food. The kitchen itself is well constructed. We've had no issues with workmanship, etc. It was a bit of pain to put together, but my husband I managed to do it in about 3 1/2 hours (definitely put it together before Christmas Eve!). I would also suggest waiting to tighten all the screws to the very end. It can make it difficult to get some of the holes/panels to line up correctly (we had an issue with back oven panel fitting into a groove, but once we loosened up some screws it went together just fine). Bottom line: both my kids LOVE this kitchen (my daughter especially, but my son will play with it, too). I love that it doesn't have noises and flashing lights and allows them to use their imagination and mimic real world scenarios. I am completely satisfied with my decision to purchase this kitchen and would definitely recommend it to others.
Love this kitchen!!!

It looks just like the picture. My husband said it is very time consuming to put together - but the directions were clear - and the pieces were clearly labeled. I picked this kitchen out - because I felt like it would be big enough for both of my children (boy and girl), and it looks nice with our other furniture. I was looking for a kitchen that was gender neutral, large enough for multiple children, looked nice (not plastic), and had a variety of things to do (this one has a sink, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and fridge - it even has a towel rack and hooks for pots and pans or spoons, etc.) We got this as a Christmas gift for my children, and they have been playing non-stop with it. We are looking forward to the many hours of fun it will hopefully provide! :) We purchased this item on Sat, Dec 13 after 10 pm - and it arrived on our door step on Tues, Dec 16 before 10 am. :)
Very good looking kitchen

I've been wanting to buy this kitchen for almost 2 years but back then we still lived in an apartment and didn't have room for this kitchen. When I finally got this from Wayfair, it doesn't disappoint. It's very good looking, I've already gotten compliments from friends that only saw the pics. It did take us 4 hours, and since we had to wait until the kids went to bed, we didn't start until 10pm and finished about 2am. All the parts aligned properly, my husband only needed to drill 1 or 2 holes underneath the sink area because the holes were not aligned properly. But all the times we took to build it was certainly worth it. My husband teased me that I actually bought this for me not for our daughters. :) The height of this kitchen is perfect for my 3.5 year old who's in the 94th percentile for her height.

My kids love the kitchen. They enjoy playing with it. It was what I thought I was getting from the website. However, it was a major project to put together. My four girls and I put it together alone and it took most of an afternoon. That said, it is really sturdy with lots of screws and supports which is one of the reasons it takes awhile to put together. I wish the instructions had written words instead of pictures. I just messed up one side which I flipped the wrong way but I did not figure it out until two steps later because it did not indicate from the drawing which side the bracket went on. I took it apart and fixed it. My husband got home from his camping trip (with our boys) and he said, "It looks like a real kitchen." (Yes I bought this because he left us girls home alone!)
Super chic kitchen

I did a ton of research when looking for a play kitchen for my daughter and this one stands above the rest. It is solid wood and is just as beautiful in personas pictured here. It's high quality and I know it will withstand the test of time and the abuse of children. It took my husband about 3 hours to assemble but the instructions were pretty clear just a lot df steps. I give this kitchen a 5 star rating..
Super Cute Kitchen

We bought this for my 19 month old daughter. I'd looked at many kitchen options & decided I wanted to buy something wood (instead of plastic) & something that would look nice in our kitchen. This one looks great! It's big enough that I know she has lots of time to grow into it & will get lots of use out of it. Only negative is that is was a lot of work to get it put together. Be sure to give yourself a few hours without a child & be sure to follow every step, in order (we skipped a step & almost weren't able to get the back on to the oven.

Very cute, well made kitchen. My husband liked that it was gender neutral, as both my son and daughter can play with it without either one saying........it's pink, it's for a girl............or it's blue, it's for a boy. Some of the doors are a bit hard for a toddler to open, but hopefully they will loosen up in time. I just wish the phone, oven and microwave made noise when you pressed the buttons. If they were to be made with the option of putting batteries in for this function, it would be more fun for the kids. I do not like that the phone falls apart every single time they pretend to call someone from it. That should be made better. However, overall it's a great product.
Nice Kitchen for the Price

This is by no means the swanky kitchen's you see in Pottery Barn Kids BUT my daughter was just as thrilled and beyond excited when Santa had this set up for her by the Christmas tree. She loves opening all the doors, cooking, and most of all, she loves talking on the phone. Plenty of storage for all the loose food we had in bins as well as plates and pots. Well worth the money. It does off-gas a little bit, but this dissipated sitting out overnight. This is a good size with room for my 3 year-old daughter (avg. size) to grow into. My husband assembled by himself in a couple of hours, but this could definitely take two people to put together (particularly if you would like to have it put together faster).
Dream kitchen for a toddler
Ambra from Millbrae, CA – Verified Buyer
My 2 year old son loves this kitchen. Has all the features of a modern adult kitchen so he can saute'/bake/microwave and then put his items in the dishwasher when he's finished cooking. We bought some wooden fruits and veggies that he stores and puts in his pots and pans. He's a chef in the making. The only caution I would provide is that it takes quite a bit of effort to construct it. Fortunately my husband took on this task, however he said that the assembly was reminiscent of building a piece of Ikea furniture without the Ikea level of instructions. He's pretty handy and it took him about 3 hours or so from start to finish due to all the pieces. Given the look and function of the item though, I still say it is well worth the investment of time and money.
Very fun for the kiddies!

Our friends have a different KidKraft kitchen which our baby loved, even when she could barely walk. She also had a great desire to be with us in the kitchen while we cooked, wanting to adjust the burners, etc. So it was a no-brainer to get her this for her first birthday, even though she's still a little short to actually use it (or have the cognitive ability to "cook". She enjoys playing with the knobs and faucet and loves storing things in the fridge. Good quality materials, solid once constructed, the only thing that's bad is the paper towel roll holder is easy to take out, which then becomes a baton for a toddler. Oh, and it took my wife and I no less than 3.5 hours to construct!
