I love Frieling -- because of the drinking habits of my household I have 18! 4 in 35 oz, 4 in 25 oz, 8 on 17 oz and 2 in 8 oz. The littlest ones are too small for the size they represent and I am switching to Bodum for that size. [...]Sometimes the threads get a little stripped but you have to be careful.But for making French press coffee and keeping it hotter longer while it brews -- Frieling is the best. However, after the 4 minutes wait time you must decant it or it will turn bitter (as with all French presses.) If you are not going to drink it all right away put it into something thermal. But the bitterness is not from the French press, it is from leaving the coffee in there too long."..." Read more

I've had a bodum glass pot for years and have broken the glass in the past but only twice. What I hated about the Bodum was that my coffee got cold really fast and I had to hurry up and drink it or I'd have to warm it up in the microwave which I don't like to do. After the second time breaking the Bodum glass I reached and found the Frieling french press. Ordered it right away based on the high ratings all over the web. I LOVE this french press. The coffee stays hot for a long time so I don't have to rush. It's made of very heavy duty construction and I like the brushed metal design, goes well with my All Clad cookware. Overall no complaints about this pot accept for one, the opening spout doesn't close up and it does release some heat out but not enough to make a major difference."..." Read more

Well made and built to last. The only think I will say is that the capacity that is listed on the box is not even close. I would say overly optimistic. The 28 oz size will actually make about 18 oz of coffee safely, so when choosing a Frieling, take this into account. Bodum, it appears, is more realistic regarding usable capacity."..." Read more
