Flat Wall Mounts

I bought this mount because the stand that came with my TV was so big it put the TV a foot and a half away from the wall. Sort of defeated the purpose of a thin TV. I have the Bush VS74962-03 stand and was afraid I'd have to replace it to get an attached vertical stand (I'm not a fan of wall mount). And I really, really, love that stand.Luckily, I started at the Bush site for research and saw that they made a vertical attachment for the two stands in that series. The fact that it swiveled was an added bonus. Looking around, Wayfair had the best price [...]The vertical attatchment was easy to mount to the stand - 4 bolts. I DID have to go to the hardware store to get longer bolts since it reuses the ones from the base stand. They were not long enough to reattach with the swivel mount. The original bolts were also 6mm x 1.25, but 1/4-20 bolts are a good fit.The mounting bolts for the TV were a perfect fit. Should be since Bush includes a whole bunch of different sizes and lengths to cover a wide range of TVs. Unfortunately, Panasonic put the mounting bolts WAY at the bottom of the TV instead of in the middle like you'd expect (and like Bush expected). The Bush swivel mount has a LOT of lattitude in mounting the brackets to the TV, but the Panasonic VT series exceeds even that. I was able to make the brackets fit by using a Dremel and file to extend one of the mounting holes about 1/2 inch. That also put the TV in the perfect spot. Once the brackets were on, the TV was easy to put on the swivel. Make sure you have a buddy to help so it will be easy to lift for centering.So, the issues that I had, I have to attribute to the odd way that Panasonic chose to put the mounting points on the VT series (too low). I have the Hitachi UltraVision CineForm Director's Series 55" Plasma HDTV 55HDX99 Plasma. My original wall mount purchase was the the next size down, but the installation instructions did not list my TV, so I called TV wallmount support and they told me the correct mount for my TV was the 61-102" model. The instructions did not define the what screws & spacers to use for my TV, but it was pretty easy to figure out. I installed two of these wall mounts without any problems. I used the (4)6x25 or 30(?) screws for installing the vertical brackets. What's nice about using this wall mount is you still have room to add or remove cables to the back of the TV after it's on the wall. I was hesitant to purchase the product at first because it is really inexpensive (as compared to other mounts I came across in my search.) However, when I received and hung the SmartMount and my new flat screen television, I was very relieved. The SmartMount is an extremely well-made and durable piece of equipment. It is every bit as advertised and more. I was in a large national home improvement store recently and a woman asked if I could recommend a flat screen TV mount from the shelf. I suggested she forget the very expensive mounts on the shelf and go to your site and she'll find a better, less expensive mount there. She did and although I haven't met her again, I'm sure she's glad she did. I plan on purchasing another flat screen television soon and I will again come to your store for another one. I have been looking for a way to mount a very heavy pair (38 Lbs Each) of Polk Audio LSi9 Speakers ($500.00 Ea) on a wall facing down without any visible brackets or arms but strong enough and versatile enough to mount in a very small space. Guess what! These worked very well. My speakers look like they are floating 1/2" away from the wall in perfect alignment. I did not need the versa mount for anything else but it was already predrilled in several different ways to accomodate any anchor or stud needed to mount a heavy speaker in a very small foot print. Once brackets were were in place I just simply lifted the speakers and hooked them up on the wall in one swift stride.I then thightened up the security screws (2) from the bottom with a 10" long tool that was supplied with the mounts. That means you can not take them off the wall without the tool unless you can tear them off."..."  Read more
