Cabinet is solidly built with useful configuration. Only one of the filing drawers can be opened at a time, as any good filing cabinet should do to avoid tipping over. Unit comes with file bars and brackets to support several possible file size and layout configurations. My only gripe is that closing the larger bottom lateral filing drawer with standard file folders causes the file tabs to rub against the cabinet support above on the way back into the cabinet."..."  Read more

My fiancé and I have been looking for a better solution for our important paperwork than the plastic file boxes we've been using, but we didn't want the ugly industrial metal filing cabinets. We wanted a quality piece of furniture that we could display in our home. I did a bit of Googling and found this one, which perfectly meets our needs. A couple online retailers offer this same file cabinet, but Wayfairs had the best price. It turned out to be a lot more sturdy and well made than I expected for the money, and the lock is a major plus. The bottom file drawer is plenty big enough to hold my and my fiancé's letter sized files, while the upper drawer will be used for storing basic office-type supplies like pens, pencils, stapler, etc. On top of that, when we leave or have company over, we can stash our valuables in the top drawer and lock it for security. It comes with two keys so we can both have one. The espresso finish is great, matches the rest of our furniture very well, and the only assembly I had to do was screwing in the drawer handles and placing the hanging file supports in the drawers. My sole complaint is that the drawers provide a bit more resistance than I think they should, but they'll either get better with time or I'll figure out how to grease the slides. Regardless, I'm willing to overlook that one tiny drawback in light of all the great things it has going for it. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase."..."  Read more

Bought the Desk and File cabinet together after searching office stores and furniture stores for a "nice" desk and file . Most were cheap junk or were so expensive compared to these that I didn't see the value in the difference in costs. It takes awhile to assemble this and make sure you assemble on clean carpet as the composite scratches easily. You can touch up with black paint and it hardly shows. ( I nicked the desk top while assembling of course) Read the drawer assembly area closely. It's easy to make a mistake there in assembly. The desk had 3 cracked drawer bottoms damaged in shipping...they were replaced in 3 days No questions asked with an email replacement form. Excellent service there***** It's a very nice looking desk and file cabinet. Looks good and is heavy good quality. Would buy again in a minute. I purchased this file cabinet to replace another lateral file cabinet. This one has smaller drawers, so I am unable to place letter-size files side by side -- less room for my letter-size files. However, the cabinet is much sturdier, and I like the caster under the bottom drawer for stability. The previous file cabinet had the runners already installed, so it was a bit of a challenge figuring out how to install the runners on the sides of the drawers -- instructions could have more clear or the drawer sides could have been labeled "right" and "left"."..."  Read more
