I bought this tea kettle after reading many reviews, it was a bit pricey for a kettle in my opinion but I decided it was gonna be worth it. I just washed it and put it on boil for the first time.. and what amazed me is how 'quiet' it is when it boils. My old kettle, which had a thin, sort of grooved bottom, which was about the same size as this one would make such a racket as water particles heated and bounced all over inside the kettle. It was this loud 'rattly' kind of noise, and it did that for about ten or more minutes till it finally came to a full boil. It was annoying but we put up with it for a long time, but finally after a weird and odd 'taste' kept developing in whatever tea we made (we drink korean corn or barley tea) that would not go away even when I washed it or gave it a vinegar boil, I decided it was time to get a new kettle. Well this one has a thick bottom kind of like on those more expensive pots.. and I think the water came to a boil pretty fast... a lot faster compared to the old one. I imagine this will give us many years of use. The lid also 'snaps' in, so it will stay put when you tip the kettle.. but at the same time it is not at all difficult to remove. Perfect! Pros: Beautiful mirror finish, thick bottom, quiet boil Cons: none

I have been looking for a kettle that would look clean after washing, would hold enough water for a full pot of drip coffee and one the handle would not melt on. I think I found it. Beautiful, stainless wipes clean with ease and shines like a star. One boiling fills my 10-12 cup drip pot. And though the handle does get warm; used on my gas stove; I do not think it will ever melt, the handle on this kettle does not get as hot as the handles on previous kettles I have owned. No, it does not whistle, I knew this prior to purchase. Did not matter to me. Love it so far. Would recommend to others. Quality made, thick base, very stable. It will probably last long while.

Wish it were made in Belgium not Indonesia. I understand the quality (metal thickness) went down since they started having it made elsewhere. It is s nice kettle and I have given up on buying a whistling kettle due to poor quality and this one is better than any others I have tried, but with most things made in China a other countries in the area where labor is cheap, and when the manufacturer wants to pay less for their product, the quality suffers.
Love this kettle

I am a long-time tea drinker who boils water in kettles. I appreciate the capacityvolume of this kettle as it allows for that extra cup of tea or other uses (oatmeal, soup). The goose-neck spout adds style and stove-top appeal and prevents drips. It appears well-made and I hope it's durability proves true. The only thing that I would change (though not a deal-breaker) is the moveable handle (though makes for easy cleaning). It has exceeded my expectations I am very pleased with this purchase.
Classy and functional tea kettle

Stylish design compliments most decor. The handle is high enough to not need a pot holder or oven mit and is quite sturdy. I am very pleased with this purchase. Does not whistle, but I knew that when ordered it. The design sold me.

This is a big kettle. But it will last forever, unlike the one it's replacing. The lid comes off easily and makes the kettle easy to fill. There is no whistle, but if you listen while it's boiling, there is a sharper, higher sound that means it's at a full boil.
Resto Tea Kettle

Nice size nice looking kettle. Although I should have gotten a kettle that whistles since I tend to wonder away and forget that that the stove is on but I am happy with this purchase and believe it will hold up for years.
Love my new kettle!

I purchased this kettle after tons and tons of searching. Since I live alone, I have a small 1 qt one that I use when I want to make 1 or 2 cups of tea. But I was looking to replace my larger one, which finally died after many years, that I use for when company is over or I want to make a pitcher of iced tea. I was hesitant at first, because this one is larger than I wanted, but decided to go for it based on the reviews that I had read on different websites. I'm so glad I did. Not only is it beautiful (I wanted an old fashioned look, not crazy about the newer styles)but it works great too! You do have to keep your eye on it because it does not whistle (which I don't mind) and it heats up fast. I love the low, curved spout for minimal lifting. This makes pouring easier, since the kettle can get heavy when it's full, due to its large size. I also love that the opening is so big for easy cleaning. Just keep in mind that when the kettle cools, a lot of condensation builds up underneath the lid, so be careful when removing it, as you will drip water all over. I just remove the lid near my sink and dry it underneath after use.

I purchased this kettle a couple of years ago when I was finished remodeling my kitchen. It still looks outstanding on my stovetop. It's very durable and holds a lot of water. I only wish it could whistle!

Perfect tea kettle, exactly what we were looking for. We opted for smaller of the 2 sizes and you can still boil a large amount of water.
