After much deliberation, my wife and I decided to purchase this as our first Christmas tree stand. It was very easy to assemble and felt very sturdy with and without the tree in it. I had the base of the tree trimmed of excess branches for about 6 inches. I placed the tree in the 'bucket' part of the stand and initially secured the clamps while the tree was still baled. I then cut away the baling net and set the tree up-right. It took about 10-15 minutes to straighten the tree (my wife gave input while I turned and straightened things up). I had to loosen and re-tighten the clamps a few time to get the thing straight. I recommend wearing glove for this part since you have to press the clamps tight with your thumb and finger. Once the tree was set, it has not shifted (we have had it up for 5-6 weeks so far!). Once the tree was in the stand, it held about 2 litres of water - enough for 1.5 days when our tree (frasier fir) was fresh. It looks like the stand will break down easily for storage.
I would give this stand 5 out of 5 stars if the clamps were slightly more ergonomic, but by not means should this small detail stop you from purchasing the stand.

I have bought a real tree for the past 24 years. I have always used a self adjusting tree stand and added two 20 pound lead bricks to hold the base down every year. No more trees falling over in my living room. No more spills and clean ups, No more fans drying out the carpet. What a pain in the butt! Now why didnt I find this great tree stand sooner! This thing is awsome! Very heavy duty. Heavy gauge metal. Built for life. Get this tree stand because it comes with the extra extender feet. This makes the stand very stable for large trees. Now I can feel good about getting those 10 foot plus trees that weigh alot and know that this thing will hold them up. Also this tree stand has a large 1 gallon plastic water pan. I know that will help alone because my fresh cut trees really suck down a few gallons of water the first few days. Less chance of going dry. Get this tree stand and you can be sure that you can put any size tree in it with no tipping problems, ever! I am really glad I bought this. You will be too! I purchased a Vickerman flocked tree (I love love love it) and purchased this rotating stand. I had purchased a rotating stand that cost over $130.00 and it didn't rotate evenly and shorted out after the 1st few weeks. I couldn't return it, bought it the end of the season the previous year. I was a little concerned because this stand was so inexpensive. It rotates really nice, doesn't shake your tree. I thought that ordering a tree and stand from the same company it would be a perfect fit. That is the only problem I had. The tree didn't fit (the pole on the bottom of the tree wasn't long enough) we had to make adjustments to the tree to make it fit. Wasn't that big of deal! Would definetly recommend this stand. We were quiet content with our old Christmas Tree Stand we had in Germany, but when we moved to Ohio 2010 we somehow lost it. So I was shocked about the prices for Christmas Tree Stands, up to 160 bucks! We had already bought a Christmas Tree, a really nice and big one, the biggest one that fitted through the door. But even with this huge tree the stand was easy to handle and the tree was fixed vertikal in five minutes. I also like the red colour and the simple, solid appearance of good quality.
