4 stars I bought these tiles for use in our basement, and the finished product looks very good. The actual product is a little darker than how it appears on screen, so that should be taken into account. I bought these tiles for use in our basement, and the finished product looks very good. The actual product is a little darker than how it appears on screen, so that should be taken into account. Also, the fibers in these squares have a specific grain that runs in a certain direction, and this allows you to create a checkerboard pattern by alternating the direction in which you lay them out. However, this grain may also result in very thin but visible gaps between the carpet squares when utilizing this checkerboard pattern.
