Blu Dot Chicago 8 Box - CH1-8BXKIT

I bought this piece because of the design. I ordered graphite on oak. The design is great but the veneer looks like any discount store veneer, very low quality. The vertical supports were heavy (sturdy) but the dead gray finish did not impress. For close two thousand dollars I was expecting something of much higher quality. If I had a choice I would return it. Don't buy it unless you love the design.

Very pleased with the unit. Looks contemporary and very sturdy. The sales person said it was solid cherry, but it is really just a veneer. I am still very pleased with the way it looks and functions. I was able to assemble it on my own with in an hour. Worth the buy.

It looks better than I thought it would. Beautiful wood and the steel posts are nice. However, I havent put anything on it yet because Im really nervous about using it. I keep thinking its going to tip over because its easily shaken.. My apartment is very small and it could be disastrous for me. People tell me once I put stuff in it that it will sink into the carpet. If anyone knows or can assure me about the weight capacity, Id appreciate it. Also its the first piece of furniture I bought that I cant move myself. Its not that its heavy but even when two people are dragging it you have to be careful it doesnt tip to one side.

easy to put together

The shelving is for a home office, with a Hermann Mille desk. We like the clean modern lines, and If find the combination of wood and steel very attractive, and highly functional. As an ex-furniture mill owner, I was pleasantly impressed by the high quality cherry veneers and - if you're a wood worker you'll appreciate this - the perfect finishing. Nary a chip in the veneer in any of the 8 boxes which had many many places for chips to happen. great looking shelving at a great price.
