Area Rugs

This is the third purchase I have made of the Safavieh Indoor/Outdoor rugs and every item has been better than expected. Living in the Lake Erie snow belt, we get extremes in weather; hot, humid summers with lots of rain and fridged winters with tons of snow, sleet and rain. We purchased an outdoor patio rug set two years ago that was so nice that we continued on with this manufacturer and seller. Purchase number two, about three months after the first. was actually two sets of rugs, one for the entry foyer and one for the garage access area. Our most recent purchase was for kitchen rugs. We are not the most neat cooks tending to get food and goo on the floor. All of the rugs are ideal for the task. All are so easy to care for... just drag them out into the yard and hose them down. The color has not faded and the rugs show little or no wear. There are only two complaints, we would have. First, not all the rugs list the name of the color and you have to hope the color in the picture is correct. Second, even when the color name(s) is given, the pictures may show a darker color than the actual rug; this happened with our last purchase but the color still worked out."..."  Read more

This rug is well built and has a very comfortable feel to it. It is warm and inviting in feeling and color. I like the tightly-woven medium pile which is comfortable but not subject to shedding and collecting crumbs as some rugs often used in living spaces. Also, this wool rug is replacing wool rugs that we tried from other retail vendors. Those other rugs all shed an insane amount of fibers for months without ever stopping. The shedding should slow down after a few vacuum sessions and a month or so of use. This Capel rug has had none of those problems. I am giving it 4 stars for two relatively minor reasons 1. It is reasonably priced, not exceptionally priced. It is a good value and well worth the money at its current price. Perhaps a sale price would push this into great value territory. 2. The color is just slightly more brown than portrayed in the picture online. It is very subtle, but I would say it has more of the rust tones than I was expecting (I have a calibrated professional monitor so it wasnt my computer that was the problem). I still really like the color and it matches the room well enough. Its a very small discrepancy so dont panic over it, Im just mentioning it because I noticed it. This is a really cool rug that makes a big statement. I bought the 8 ft runner (which is actually more like 8.5 feet) and the small rug for the kitchen. They are beautiful and well-made. They look expensive. And they are a breeze to keep clean. Dirt shows up, ESP. On the white part. But I've just vaccuumed everything up with no scrubbing necessary. (and I have 2 dogs and ppl with muddy feet). I was also pleased to see that I could flip the rug to extend its life. the only downfalls - the white is really ivory. Luckily, it still looks good with my soft white cabinetry. But don't expect true white. The rugs are also super slippery and will slide everywhere without a rug pad. We had some falls before we bought the non slip pad. defintwly worth the money if you are looking for a statement rug with a classic, preppy style. I'd love to get another for the porch.
