Area Rugs

We bought this rug in order to protect our hardwood floors under our dining room table. We have two young children so basically the rug is being used as a dropcloth. We did get a quote from a carpet retailer who would have charged us almost the same amount as the rug but we would have ended up with a carpet remnant with no design, ugly colors from which to choose and we would have had to steam clean it when it became too dirty. The Spinx rug is perfect for us because it can be hosed down if need be and the best part is the design and colors. We've had the rug for almost a month now and plenty of food plus a full glass of milk has dropped on it and the rug still looks great. I'm contemplating ordering another for our front porch outside. The carpet is so inexpensive and the shipping was free so it's difficult to find a reason not to buy one. I will add that we did purchase the carpet pad to go underneath the rug but we are shopping around for the padding that resembles a somewhat thick felt fabric. We have friends that learned the hard way that some rugs on hardwood floors can leave the small woven design of the rug backing on the floor. They advised the felt-type rug padding so we're on the lookout for one though we haven't tried too hard yet. This rug is the first purchase Ive made through Wayfair and Im thrilled with the whole experience. I originally saw the rug at a local big box store. I decided to compare prices online and was able to buy it at Wayfair on sale for over 100 less with free shipping. Even if it hadnt been on sale, Wayfairs price was still lower. I was worried about buying a rug online though, because its so hard to tell what it would look like once its in your home. The photo is an accurate depiction. The rugs color name is BeigeGray but in my home the gray looks like it has some subtle slate blue in it. That is probably because of my lighting but it is exactly what I wanted. Again, the photo represents this color very well. I called Wayfair to discuss this rug and the customer service rep was incredibly sweet and helpful. She put the rug on hold for me for a week to lock in the sale price while I decided if I wanted to order it. Once I decided yes, I received the rug in the promised number of delivery days (cant remember now how many days it was, but the website states that info - it wasnt long). I love the rug! It was obviously delivered all rolled up, and so took a few days to lay completely flat. We also had to turn it 180 degrees from the way we originally set it up because, as with all carpet fibers, depending on the cut of the fiber, one direction might reflect more light than the other. We wanted a more flat color look which we achieved by simple turning the carpet around. All of my guests over the holidays, commented on the subtle colors and beauty of this rug. This is the third purchase I have made of the Safavieh Indoor/Outdoor rugs and every item has been better than expected. Living in the Lake Erie snow belt, we get extremes in weather; hot, humid summers with lots of rain and fridged winters with tons of snow, sleet and rain. We purchased an outdoor patio rug set two years ago that was so nice that we continued on with this manufacturer and seller. Purchase number two, about three months after the first. was actually two sets of rugs, one for the entry foyer and one for the garage access area. Our most recent purchase was for kitchen rugs. We are not the most neat cooks tending to get food and goo on the floor. All of the rugs are ideal for the task. All are so easy to care for... just drag them out into the yard and hose them down. The color has not faded and the rugs show little or no wear. There are only two complaints, we would have. First, not all the rugs list the name of the color and you have to hope the color in the picture is correct. Second, even when the color name(s) is given, the pictures may show a darker color than the actual rug; this happened with our last purchase but the color still worked out."..."  Read more
