I now have two of these audio racks, one on each side of a high-gloss black television stand with a piano-black Sony XBR8 on top of it.
The high-gloss black of the audio racks match the television great, but there is a little visible wood grain (the supports on these racks are solid wood). Unfortunately the clear spacers between the supports and the shelves are also visible, but the glass shelves are beautiful. They are coated black on the bottom, which creates the appearance of a gloss black finish on the top. I was surprised by the metal accents though. They are not quite as bright as I had expected and more of a gray color. (I was hoping for an aluminum-like finish.)
The stand includes velcro straps on the back of each segment just below the cable holes for cable management, and enough usable depth for big components like laser disc players. Although the shelves are fixed, the distance between them is constant, and each can support up to 50 pounds.
Honestly, if I could change one thing it would be to allow customers to remove a shelf or two, but due to the construction you must build it with all 5 shelves."..." Read more
