Known for his particular interest in neo-modern and contemporary design, he has amassed much recognition as a designer, architect and image consultant for many corporations creating many objects, furniture and interior installations. Mendini describes his mission as one “to communicate through my objects and work in general, trying to say things that encourage people to deepen meditation and spirituality.” In the Parrot Corkscrew, Mendini has definitely defined a new design for this common item. With all the functionality of a traditional corkscrew, Mendini has utilized all of its components to resemble the shape of a parrot - very unique. This piece is made from durable aluminum and PC and comes in three color options for your home bar.

Very Cool!
Product Review
I bought one of these for myself and later bought one for my parents and in-laws. Not only does this thing look cool, but it actually works better than most corkscrews i've used in the past. Really cool product.

Delightful form trumps function

Mendini's parrot corkscrew is a beautiful tool with a delightful visual form. I had seen and admired pictures of it for a long time and when I finally decided to buy one, I was not disappointed. I actually found the real item to be more impressive than the photos. It works well and the materials have a quality look and feel. One minor flaw that I find annoying is the super small notch on the foil cutter. This makes opening the cutter just a bit more difficult and there's no excuse for this not being larger. Still . . . the little parrot makes me smile every time I use it.
