Dear Hisako, I normally don't recommend modifying any of our furniture post-production, because doing so could expose unfinished parts of the wood which would not be so attractive. I would recommend looking for a way to expand the available space before trying to modify this shelf.

I have a small room and this shelf fits perfectly in a corner above my bed. I like its contemporary style. The color is exactly what is on a picture, only it doesn't match the rest of my "maple" color furniture.

A UNIQUE CORNER SHELVING UNIT

Looks different, yet from the old school

Product Review

Color looks old fashioned. Light grey or "maple" Cherry may look better. But is a very interesting idea and utilzes the space pretty well. Tricky to put up, took some strength to hold up to wall while marking the anchor points, which need to be precise. Not recommended for lights unless they are cordless.

The shelves didn't come in white which was what we wanted, but we found a good base and a good paint and painted them - they look great and fit in just fine.

Beautiful and efficient

This is a wonderful bookshelf for my dorm, I needed something that could go in the corner but not take up floor space and this is exactly what I needed. It was very easy to put together but when I was carrying it to my room, since there is poor weight distribution, I was worried it might break. The wood is beautiful and not heavy. Overall it is a wonderful shelf and I was very satisfied.
