Nice large wok, Great to cook with. Love the nonstick material. And i actually was looking for and love the 2 short handles instead of 1 short and 1 long pan handle which seems standard for such larger cookware. However, the way the short handles are mounted onto the metal attachments, one needs to be careful when grabbing the hot wok as the metal attachment sites are too close to the middle of the wooden dowls and you could burn yourself by accident. This work can be a bit of a project (and we welcome any kind of a project these days tbh), since every time you cook with its uncoated carbon steel, you’re adding something to it. You’re helping to evolve this traditional round-bottom wok by developing a unique seasoning (or patina) that coats the surface with every meal. No seasoning will age in quite the same way, nor will any carbon steel surface darken at the exact same rate or pattern. Typically, within a few months of sizzling up stir fry, the carbon steel will turn black, like a cast iron pan. Sure, like any project, this work will require a bit more effort. But it’ll be worth it, especially as it returns meals packed with complex umami flavors seared into meats and charred into veggies. And that effort? It’s pretty straightforward. Just be sure to clean up soon after cooking (this is not a pan to soak overnight), wipe away any leftover moisture (we like to throw the wok back over a flame for a hot minute), and then finish by working generous dabs of vegetable or castor oil over the surfaces. Your work will soak up all that love and attention, thanking you for years of delicious dedication.

The 14" Skillet with Helper Handle is an easy choice for browning and frying large batches of food because it's induction ready and boasts measurement markings for ease of use. The helper handle also makes it easy to transport a skillet loaded with delicious food.

I was looking for a pan to roast whole tomatoes primarily, and fry other foods in general. My wife already has 10 and 11 inch pans, but when cooking large amounts they can sometimes be a bit too small. Also, our old pans are showing their age, with the bases no longer entirely flat. So I wanted something over 12 inches. I also wanted genuine stainless steel for longevity and, based on our experience with other pots we have I wanted the Tri-Ply base. Full-clad Tri-Ply pans are available, but we have no experience with them and the cost is high. Wayfair was the only store in which I saw this big 14 inch pan and their free shipping to Miami was a plus since it would be freight forwarded down to the Caribbean and I have to pay import duties. The lack of a cover wasn't a problem because as you can see from the photos my wife has a good glass cover that fit perfectly. The skillet was double boxed as shown, and there was no damage to the pan. As shown in the photos it is big, but sits comfortably on the GE gas stove. My wife fried a pot of Caraili (bitter gourd) on medium heat on the GE power burner and it came out great. Yes, the handle does extend quite a bit, but our stove area was designed with extra space to allow sweeping and mopping without having to move the stove, so this isn't an issue. The handle itself is a bit narrow, and I think the pan would have been better off with two of the square handles instead of this long one. I've given it a 5-star rating up to this point. We haven't gotten around to roasting a pan full of whole tomatoes for ~30 minutes. That will be the real test, especially the cleanup part of the job, because that's where all our non-stick pans have faltered in the past.. Anonymous. Fri Jul 10 2026
