It has a cement look, but light does filter through by some of the quartz I had a light over the sink that was a glass tube that was always "burned" by the bulb and difficult to clean. Happy with how they look over peninsula. Like some other reviewers said, the gold is a tinge more towards orangey…it’s not a true brushed brass/gold.
