PURCHASED: Habous Oriental Silver Area Rug (8'9" x 12'3"). SIZE: It measured close to its advertised size at 8'8.5" x 12'1.75". This discrepancy wasn’t a concern for us; we simply needed the measurement to trim the pad that would fit under it. PATTERN: Another reviewer noted the pattern is faded in places; that's the style. It's supposed to look aged/worn and was the look we were going for. The pattern is beautiful. The colors work well, too. The palette is muted (not vibrant/bright) and includes these colors: pale yellow, light blue, dark teal, medium orange, dark burgundy, white, and light gray. White and light gray are the most predominant colors. Orange is the "brightest" color. Some may feel the dark burgundy leans more towards a dark brown, but it matches well to a dark red/burgundy cabinet we have in the same room. PILE: We didn’t measure it, but it’s not a plush rug by any means. If you love the pattern, I would recommend a nice pad (at least 1” thick). CREASING: Didn’t have any issue with this. Some rolling across the main part of the rug and curling at the corners, but it seems to be working itself out with a non-slip pad that also has a light grip on top to keep the rug in place; also our rug is under furniture. We plan to get some tape to keep the corners down. RETURN: I know I've seen complaints about this and the associated cost in returning area rugs in particular. I thought I'd share our experience. We first purchased the 11'3" x 14'6" version after having measured and remeasured our space several times. When it arrived, I measured once more before opening the rug and I'm so glad we did. We realized it was too large for our space. We had carefully removed the rug from the original plastic in which it was shipped, but it was never unfolded. At first, we weren't going to return it. But we weren't sure we could live with the oversized rug either. So, we contacted a customer rep to find out the actual cost for shipping it back. (FedEx's site estimated ground shipping would cost over $100.) The customer rep told us it would be about $45 and that’s what it cost. It was well worth the mistake. We also rationalized that since shipping it to us was free, we essentially paid a little more than $20 for each way (less if you include the free shipping for its replacement). Not bad at all. RETURN TIPS: (1) measure twice more at least before completely opening the rug; (2) carefully remove and save all packaging; (3) if possible, don’t unfold/unroll the rug until you are sure you want to keep it. If you are returning it, cover the original mailing label with the return label, repackage it in all original packaging, and locate the correct facility that will accept the size and weight of your return item. (Unless you pay to have it picked up.) We had to drive to a specific location. For us, it all worked out well. Hope these tips help someone else.. Tammy. Cibolo, TX. 2020-05-14 14:37:39
