Best CD & DVD Media Storage Furniture With Reviews

I needed a way to store and display my DVDs and video games in my living room, and this does the trick! It's a little shorter than I'd expected, the pictures made it look so tall, but it still has plenty of room for what I wanted to put in there, and I appreciate that it came with extra adjustable shelves to add in, I actually don't think I need two of them. Two problems though - one, it was not easy to assemble, you have to nail on the back panels and unless you're great at putting things together, it's really easy for this to end up crooked. Also, the pieces have little stickers with letters on them, which helped avoid confusion during the assembly, but they were stuck on highly visible edges and very tricky to remove - not a good combination!

I waited so long for this ... I needed a narrow cabinet for my tiny bathroom and this was all I could find. Then they ran out ... Still, I kept it in my cart for about six months, and all of a sudden it was back in stock! Just got it put together last week and it is beautiful, perfect for all those little things that you have no room for in the medicine cabinet ... PERFECT. It will also make a wonderful media cabinet for your DVDs and CDs. The directions are easy, just lay out all of the parts, take it slow, and it comes together beautifully. I'm so pleased. Now I want some company so I can show it off!

This is an AMAZINGLY well crafted & sturdy CD rack, EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING & HOPING for! The quality of the craftsmanship, coupled with the desired finish choices made it even more appealing, icing on the cake, NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED! The only small issue I have is that the two dividers came bundled with the 4th shelf, second up from the bottom, & I would have liked to have the option to position those dividers on the shelf of my choice, I thought I may be able to easily take them off and slide them onto another shelf, but it doesn't seem like that's possible, (at least without me breaking something) and I didn't want to do that, so until someone can instruct me otherwise how to get those dividers off the current shelf without pulling too hard or breaking something, I'll just be happy with the product as is, and I am so happy in fact, I just ordered a second unit because I apparently have more cd's than I figured I have, so another unit with a capacity of 275 should do the trick. Kudos to the folks at Rebrilliant for providing such a quality product that's manufactured right here in the USA!

I purchased this rack to replace a very cheep particle board dvd rack that was nearly full and somewhat flimsy. I looked all over, and I do mean all over, both here in San Diego, and on the internet. And the best choice for me was here [...].I have purchased a few metal racks for my plasma hdtv and home theater equiptment from [...]in the past, and have had excellent service from them, so here I am again.Anyway, the Wood Shed 705 - 280 DVD Dowel Storage Rack is made of SOLID OAK...not one bit of particle board...all SOLID OAK including the dowels and feet. After rubbing a bit of Touch of Bees Wax wood preserver on this rack, waiting about 1 hour to let it soak in, then rubbing off any excess, the rack looks terrific, with just a touch of sheen to it. I placed my collection of standard, Blu ray and HD dvd's on this rack and it works perfecty, just as it was intended to do.For Blu ray & HD dvd's, you can fit about 50 per shelf. Regular dvd's, you can fit about 45 per shelf. So you may be able to hold more than 280 dvd's. ONE SMALL SIDE NOTE..it's not mentioned here on the rack dementions, so I'll post it to help others out. This particular rack was the best value for storage capacity that I could find in real, solid wood. The finish wasn't as dark as I expected, but is acceptable. I ordered the darker finish. The finish is a bit dull and there are a few slightly rough spots on the dowels, but the finish certainly meets expectations and is good for the cost. The wood quality is consistent and the piece is built well. The measurements are accurate although the feet do add a bit to the width. I only wish there was a similar, streamlined, thin-profile rack with some sort of simple solid wood door so I could close my collection away out-of-sight. I ordered 2 of these CD racks and 1 matching DVD rack (slightly taller) - all consistent in quality and finish. The racks are very stable against a wall and are perfect for storing a large collection. My hubby and I like them a lot. If you do not plan to fill each dowel shelf completely, though, I'd recommend purchasing some extra spacers to hold your CDs tightly and prevent them from tipping over and tumbling off the dowels. Also, FYI, to remove spacers, place them in the center of the dowels and slightly squeeze dowels together in order to remove or install spacers - they fit snugly in order to be secure.

Love it. I bought it to store records for a recently purchased record player. Nice, lightweight, but not sure how much weight it could hold if its under too much distress. But it holds the weight of a fifteen pound record player just and looks great too. Tape sticks well, but if you plan on placing something heavy on it, Id be safe and reinforce with a few screws just to be safe. Overall great purchase for the price.

I purchased this cabinet for a small bathroom where a deeper cabinet for personal items would have been too large. It suits the purpose fine and looks pretty nice -- exactly as pictured in the photos. It was difficult to put together, largely because I foolishly followed the directions, which said not to use power tools. When it came to attaching the hinges to the doors, the screws wouldn't go in far enough with a manual screwdriver, so I broke out the power driver. It was impossible to get the doors to line up perfectly because of the slightly uneven pre-drilled holes where the doors attach, so there is a little gap at the top of one, but for a bathroom cabinet at this price, I guess I don't care. You can assemble the entire cabinet by yourself, but attaching the doors will be easier with an extra set of hands.

Nice and solid. Delivered as promised. Packaged really well which is good because there was a big gouge in the outer box but all was fine inside. I appreciated the reviews about the doors. I think I don't quite have them right yet as the top is catching. The back panel is slightly proud of the edge so I think I will need to unscrew the back and realign everything. It might work better to put a shelf in the middle before putting the back on so that the sides are out where they should be? Very nice though

This was not hard to put together but I had to redo it several times to fit my dvd’s right. Ended up only being able to use six of the shelves. I feel like the instructions were not clear at all as to where to place the shelves. Pretty flimsy but for the price could still use another one and would now know where to place my shelves which would make a big difference in putting it together.

I really like this product. I bought two as to put one on each side of my TV stand. It compliments the TV stand I bought from here also very well. Easy to put together and looks great. It came with anchor straps but did not need it, it's balance really well. Does it's job of holding my DVDs and on top I placed a couple pictures of my family.

It is just what I wanted for my large collection of movie DVDs. It is a lot of work but the directions were a great help. Your directions are always great and clear. It was very well packed. We are seniors here with disabilities so slow to get things done. My friend was quite capable and managed to unpack it and sort out the pieces. It took about 3 hours to get the main frame put together. This is no tinker toy! Today, I am putting the shelves in with the little pins. I measured the spaces to fit my DVDs. I did not hammer the pins in tight yet in case they have to be adjusted. So far things are going well and I have 6 shelves in position. It looks very good and I am satisfied with it. I will have to finish the rest of the shelves tomorrow. It is now supper time. It looks like things are going well. I could add a photo on another day.

Only negative is the backboard. It comes in a few pieces and were a major pain to nail in, because there are no holes or markers to guide you and it's easy to end up nailing through the surface of the wood if you aren't careful. Definitely a two-person job. They didn't fit together perfectly, but the back is against the wall so not like our messy work is visible. Also, the shelves don't go perfectly up against the backboard so beware of the little gap. Otherwise, looks nice and serves its purpose. It comes with many extra shelves.

Generally very well made and looks great when put together. One thing to note is that there is a gap between the back of each shelf and the back of the unit. If this was in the description or another review, I must have missed it and is completely on me. Since I am mostly using it to store paperbacks, I don’t notice the gap but wanted others to be aware incase they purchase to store something other than media.

This cabinet is sturdy and the materials are well made. It took a little over an hour to put it together. I did need a second set of hands to attach the door so that the hinges would line up appropriately. Otherwise it was simple enough for one person to assemble. We purchased this cabinet to hold DVDs, so we didn't use the dividers meant for records. Our first unit arrived extremely damaged. It looked like it had been dropped somewhere along the delivery route. Wayfair's customer service was awesome. I used the online return tool to submit a request, they shipped a replacement unit right away, and let me know I didn't need to try to return the damaged item. The replacement came in perfect condition. This cabinet looks great in my living room. It has a very mid-century modern vibe, just as described.

Nice and serves its purpose. The instructions are a little to be desired as its only diagrams (no words) so it can be very confusing as well as time consuming since you wanna make certain youre putting it together right - nothing worse than having to go back a step or two when youve discovered you had something backwards or upside down, which happened to me because they dont stipulate direction in the pictures!! But you can also get the worded instructions from the wayfair website (theyre not all that great either, but better). Just pull up the item on the website and click on Assembly Instructions right next to the picture. As I started putting it together I noticed it wasnt stable and was very wobbly, so went back and tightened down all the cam bolts even tighter, which helped a little but still slightly wobbly. Once I got the top, bottom and the shelves installed it wasnt wobbling anymore, so FYI. And like many other reviews, mine too has an annoying gap with one of my sliding doors which is driving me insane with my OCD - see pics. Overall, its an ok cabinet and looks pretty in my coastal home, but Im not sure if I would recommend it or not with that gap!

THIS IS A GREAT LITTEL DVD HOLDER. I WHICH IT WAS A LITTLE TALLER AND HAD MORE SHELF SPACE. THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM IS MORE FOR CDS AND I WISH IT WOULD JUST FIT DVDS THIS FOR ME IS A WASTE OF SPACE. WHILE PUTTING IT TOGETHER I FOUND OUT SOMETHING. DON'T SCREW THEM SCREWS IN TO TIGHTLY THEY WILL DENT THE WOOD AND COME THROUGH THE SIDES. I LOADED PICTURES TO SHOW THAT, ALSO, IF YOU SCREW IT IN TO MUCH THE SCREWS AND LOCK BOLTS WONT CONNECT RIGHT EITHER AND THEY JUST FALL OUT. MAYBE OTHERS KNOW THIS, BUT I DIDN'T, SO I AM LEARNING A LOT ABOUT FURNITURE ASSEMBLY. ALSO MAKE SURE THE MAGNET THAT HOLDS THE DOORS ARE BACK OTHER WISE THE DOORS WILL NOT BE FLUSH AND I HAD TO UNSCREW AND RESTITUTE THEM TO GET THE DOORS TO SHUT PROPERLY AGAIN I SHOWED A PICTURE OF THAT. I HAD TO BUY 3 OF THESE TO FIT ALL THE DVDS/BLURAY DISCS WE HAVE. THEY ARE A GOOD SIZE FOR THE KIDS TO GET INTO AND THE HANDLE WE CAN ZIP TIE TO KEEP THE LITTLE ONE OUT OF, BUT OVER ALL I LIKE THIS UNIT. AS I SAID BEFORE I DO WISH IT WAS BIGGER AND HELD MORE, BUT FOR THE PRICE, IT IS GOOD. MAKE SURE YOU DO BOLT IT TO THE WALL SO IT DOESN'T TIP OVER. IT DIDN'T TIP OVER FOR US, BUT I WOULDN'T TAKE ANY CHANCES, ESPECIALLY WITH LITTLE ONES RUNNING AROUND

These are very strong sturdy shelves once assembled and hung on the wall. They were delivered exceptionally well packaged. Unpacking and assembly was simple, but took a full day to assemble 2 myself. The finish is a very dark, almost black, wood grain laminate, not a true painted black. I noticed the laminate does scratch easily when unpacking, so be careful. The scratches were not noticeable once assembled. Take extra care when inserting the cam lock screws into the predrilled holes. One buckle while screwing them can easily crack the laminate, so I recommend only using a hand screwdriver as opposed to an electric drill. 2 shelves was sufficient for my entire CD and DVD collection. The template made hanging the brackets and aligning the shelves on the wall very easy. I gave it 5 stars for the good quality vs. price, quick delivery, excellent packaging, easy assembly and hanging.

This is a set of two I purchased and placed side by side. I like that they are not too wide so you can do that. Often media cases are one huge piece making it clunky and difficult to move. This one was not terribly difficult to put together. All the needed tools are included and took maybe an hour once youve unpacked it. The quality is decent and much sturdier than your common media cases like this. Ive had several different brands before from retail stores and these are much stronger.

It took forever to put it together. My husband was not happy with the quality and one of the doors will not stay closed. I guess I’m gonna have to buy a closure for it and it is not because it is not sitting level but slim design is what I was looking for so purpose Reason it is because it is a slim design and hold the amount of items I needed to.

Contrary to other customer reviews, I found the unit very easy to assemble, but you do need a lot of room to do so(as the unit is ~7' tall)and you need to plan well from the start what you are going to store. I assembled my unit to hold part of an extensive DVD-only collection, and by using close shelf spacing, actually managed to surpass the unit's stated maximum 450-DVD spec by about 45 DVD cases. That's the unit's best feature, in my opinion: its economy of space. I live in an urban apartment, so the 7' of ceiling height I have, but floorspace is a different story. My configuration used only ten of the included twelve shelves, so I have two spares in the unlikely event of breakage. I also like the contemporary-industrial styling; I'm a big fan of "form follows function" and inorganic design. The sliding shelf media-retainers are pretty bad. One arrived already broken, which I didn't care about because my shelves were going to be full right from the outset, but I believe the breakage was indicative of an overall poor design. They are difficult to insert, don't hold particularly well, and it seems they could spring out spontaneously and become a projectile. Don't get me wrong, that has not happened, it's just a feeling I get. These retainers are a very small con compared to the pros. I found the unit surprisingly sturdy considering its basically spindly construction; having paid particular attention to that attribute in other reviews, I was prepared for the worst. However, the unit's individually-height-adjustable footpads make it relatively easy to achieve stability on uneven floors like mine. The unit does exhibit a certain amount of sway no matter how well braced, so I wouldn't recommend freestanding it in the middle of the floor, but if you have at least one surface butted up to a solid wall and you don't anticipate knocking into it too often, it should prove satisfactory. I did not use the included "wall braces" which consist of a short length of nylon web belting and a screw/wall anchor. I imagine they might provide some small added measure of protection if you don't live in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Unit weight ~45lb. empty. I liked this unit so much I bought a second after having my first for just a month. Highly recommended for the budget-minded with a large collection, limited space, and industrial aesthetic.
