I had actually budgeted $500 for a chair and had been frequenting George Oliver for 2 weeks. At the end of the day, I couldn't justify paying a premium at George Oliver for a chair and I decided to give the Ulen set a try (for reference, I picked up the Ulen loveseat and wanted the matching chair). It was well-packaged, and took about 40 minutes to assemble. No sinking-in like my old and expensive "Ink and Ivy" designer-brand chair (sinking-in equates to pressure and hot points). And the biggest excitement was that ALL of the wood is SOLID and the wood looks expensive (very nice grain, feels hefty, and nicely varnished!). My old designer chair for instance, cost double and they used a combination of fake veneer wood and solid wood. The fabric also looks a lot nicer in person; albeit the color is darker in person because of the black thread weaves in the fabric. Very impressed and I'm glad I also picked up the ottoman to complement the loveseat. The only minor downside is that after assembly, it's a lot heavier than I anticipated that prevents me from moving it around at-will - but that could be an indication of the quality wood that they've used to build the chair.. These chairs are a bit pricey, but they seem quality. They are very sturdy and comfortable. The design is sleek, yet rustic, and would work in many decors. They are easy to assemble, just three pieces total. Lightweight enough to move from room to room with ease, which is what we'll use them for. The only downside is the fabric is faux leather.
