This mount is exactly what you see here and it looks very striking in person, especially if you have a newer sleek TV to show off! My old 55" LCD fits perfectly and does not need the wall connecting strap at all; the stand is as sturdy as a tripod should be.
The only thing I would mention is that I think it would only really work well if you don't have a cable box and a bunch of other components connected to your TV. It's all about minimalism for this one so if you have perhaps cut the cord and only use a Roku or something like that it's perfect. You wont have a bunch of cords back there to take away from the look.
Speaking of cords, I would suggest forgetting all about the little cord managing clips they provide and getting some nice velcro straps to hold one or two cords to that back leg. The clips are a bit flimsy, as you might expect, and are kind of a pain to install. You'll probably also want to think of a cord management solution along the wall/floor.
