Even with a canvas backing, we think rolling it out over a rug pad is a good idea.

This rug is really lovely. I got the 5' x7'6" size. I was so pleased with the quality and the fact that the colors were very true to the pictures. Creams, dark greens, light greens, even a slight amount of seafoam blue/green but to be sure, it's predominately green. The darkest shade would pick up browns or dark greys or even black if those shades are in your space and you want to match well. Regardless, I liked it and the price so much that I bought two. That little old lady (dog) in the photo is 18 and sometimes can't make it to her doggy door fast enough. Accidents. Speaking of which, she did nail the edge of the rug once already and I used my electric carpet cleaner on the spot. Colors and rug held up just fine after the cleaning. Only reason it didn’t get 5 star is part of the edge won’t stay flat no matter what we try. It’s too much hassle to return it so we shift that to the back of the room where there’s less traffic. Beautiful rug. The muted design is not overwhelming yet interesting. The rug is more of a teal green, with hints of a blue, olive greens, yellows and browns. It's like a watercolor painting with colors blending into each other. This rug compliments a room with greens, browns, blue and yellow. Unfortunately, the camera picture does not capture the "true" colors of this rug. The texture is not plush due to the tufted style but still feels nice. It is well made and thick. We ordered a pad to go with it and that added to the cushion feel under your feet, we recommend to pair it with a pad we went with 1/2 inch. We love the look and are very happy with our purchase. The only complaint we have is the way the rug was packaged. It was not rolled up but instead folded over a few times and this created a problem with creating "lumps" it was hard getting the rug to lay down properly.
