I love the clean stainless look in the bathroom. I’ve always preferred stainless in the kitchen, and it’s good to have an option for the bathroom. This is handmade by artisans in small quantities to ensure that each batch maintains its character. Made from clay filled with pieces of crushed glass and pigments, the calypso is then kiln-fired to fuse the glass and keep a crystalline quality. No two pieces of calypso will ever be the same.

The tile itself was beautiful and very unique. Unfortunately the penny rounds were set much farther apart then they appeared on the website and would have required a lot of grout. I used these tiles for a kitchen backsplash, and I’m really pleased with the result. The vintage look gives the space a nice European charm, and the patterns are eye-catching without being overwhelming. The large tiles with the scored grout lines make installation a lot quicker than dealing with smaller tiles, which was a huge plus. The mix of textures adds a unique touch, and they feel durable enough for everyday wear. They’re also easy to clean, which is a big deal for a busy kitchen.
