Super happy with this. Was using one of those litter boxes that look like a pot with a plant in it. Plastic got scratched and it started holding on to odors and dirt. The area inside was a bit small for my big guy. This rattan box is a really beautiful choice if you’re looking for something more elevated. I use a stainless pan and its perfect. Easy enough to assemble with properly marked items and hardware. A drill isn't required, but I'd recommend having a small one handy as well as a standard phillips screwdriver. The instruction manual includes directions for assembly with the side door opening on the right. The pieces are manufactured so they be used on either side so know where you want the opening before beginning assembly. The cabinet has enough room to fit the PetPivot Large Open-Top Automatic Litter Box with a litter mat and trash bags. The cabinet looks nice and fits where I wanted it. The side opening is a bit larger than necessary so my cat still ends up spreading litter on the outside when she exits. Also, I wish it came in more colors (I'll probably end up painting it). I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. My cat and I absolutely love this box! He is a 15 lbs boy so he needs his box to be large, especially because he's a "long" kitty rather than a chubby one. This one now is his favorite box and I think the reason is because it's open-top. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to see his business while walking past it, and that it would be so stinky because it's open. But after a month of testing it, it actually isn't bad at all. The stainless steel doesn't trap oders almost at all! Once I clean his mess, it's completely gone. No scratched floor, no plastic that holds on to any stinky smell, and it doesn't stain at all. Cleaning it is a breeze and nothing sticks to the bottom that requires scraping. Also I was worried that urine would leak out from the area where the top half connects with the base bin, but so far no issues. Unless your kitty sprays too high, I’m thinking this should work perfectly. It comes with its own scoop that can be hung to the side wall of the box as shown in the picture (although it isn't my preferred scooper as I like metal ones better).
