The earth clock is the reproduction of the original classic, the Ball clock, that Takenobu Igarashi designed for OUN in 1987. There are two styles of the clock face and two colors of the clock body (black and white). The clock works just as the listing says it should. It is nice and compact (2 1/2" square, as described), well-assembled (no gaps in the seams), the low-luminescence setting is good and the back is not visually distracting (as was the case with similar products). One note for potential buyers: the front, top and sides of the "black" clock are actually wood-grained charcoal grey plastic. Only the back is black. I will keep it because the clock's size, design and functionality were my priorities.
