The kitchen had the same dated features found throughout the house, like parquet flooring and popcorn ceilings (check them out here and here). The addition of drab olive walls, a bland backsplash, a strip of accent tile made the space feel even drearier. The cabinets were small and cramped, while the U-shaped counter boxed the cook in the kitchen and limited seating options to a table on the other side of the room.

Centrally located in the ground floor's new open layout, the kitchen is the heart of this stylish home—and it doesn't disappoint. The Shaker-style cabinets are painted a neutral greige to highlight the distinctive green marble countertop, glass subway tile backsplash, and subtle pops of green on the cabinet handles.
To create an open traffic flow, the U-shaped counter was replaced with a floating island and wall-to-wall cabinets. The island offers plenty of seating for guests and ample prep space for the home chef. The extra-wide sink features a spring-docking, professional-style faucet by Delta®, making even the biggest dinner parties a breeze to clean up. Farmhouse-style pendants in a dark metal finish tie in with the bar stools for a cohesive look. A round breakfast table, curved wicker chairs, and a circular chandelier break up the traditional boxy lines of the space.

Both ends of the kitchen provide even more entertainment opportunities. On one side, a wet bar with an extra sink and built-in wine fridge are ideal for serving beverages to guests. Opposite of the wet bar, a door leading to the backyard and pool makes entertaining indoors and out a breeze.
