The backyard of the HGTV Dream Home 2017 has everything from ocean views to a fire pit. Bring sunscreen because you'll want to play outside all day.

The backyard had literally gone to seed, with overgrown landscaping crowding the pool area. A drab yellow exterior clashed with the red tiled roof, while the concrete patio was cracked, showing its age. Plentiful windows looked out onto the backyard, only to provide a view of the dingy pool area.

A fresh white paint job, new roof, and dark trim instantly refresh the home's exterior. The backyard renovation creates separate zones for entertaining and relaxing. A crisp white pergola houses tables and chairs for pool-side dining, while a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs is the perfect place to linger outside when the temperatures drop—and roast marshmallows.
The crumbling concrete was replaced by gray paver stones in an asymmetrical pattern. Comfy loungers topped with plush pillows provide a place to relax after taking a dip, and a bistro table and chairs allow relaxing by the water. A fresh green lawn and simple landscaping keep the focus on the majestic Spanish moss-draped oaks framing the house.
