When choosing new dining chairs, seat height is a key measurement that'll help you create a comfortable dining experience. The correct chair seat height, which is measured from the floor to the seat rather than the total height of the chair, is best determined by the height of your dining table.

Clearance
You should allow for at least 12" of space between the seat of your chair and the bottom of your table or counter. If your table has an apron, there should be 7" of space between the top of the seat and bottom of the apron. If dining chairs have armrests, make sure that there's at least 7" of space between the chair arms and the bottom or apron of the table so you can slide chairs in and out with ease.

Each guest should have 24" – 26" of eating space and an additional 6" of space between chairs to allow for elbow room and to get in and out from the table. Each guest should get between 30" – 32" of room total.
How to Calculate How Many Chairs Fit Per Side:
