These light were perfect for what I needed: low profile lights to build into kitchen cabinets. These were just the right size to fit over the sink where we did custom cabinets, but didn't have room for traditional recessed lights. The lights look good. They are a little dim if you want to use one (12W), but with three, the light is just right. They came packaged with a cut out template. I needed to buy the bulb and transformer, but pretty easy overall. Installing the bulbs is a little more work. You need to pull the entire light out and take the housing apart to install. This is the only style can light you can use for a ceiling framed with 2x6. Regular 6" can lights and the "shallow" 6" can lights only work for ceilings framed with > or = 2x8 materials. The exception to this would be open attic space above the framework, in which case you then need to check for insulation issues. Do not place this fixture in direct contact with insulation because of a potential fire hazard. Compact flourecent bulbs are highly recommended. They are now available for can lights and have the same appearance as standard 6" can light bulbs. These bulbs will greatly reduce the chance of fire."..."  Read more

I am renovating my kitchen and I put nine of these fixtures in the ceiling. They are perfect. They look great and with the 75W halogen flood lamps they produce a pure white light with good coverage.
