FedEx left package on its end (vertical) at my front door even though the box had clearly marked, very large arrows indicating to ship store horizontally. The result was that 2 feet shipped inside fell out of cloth bag they were packaged in now have damage. As the storage bench is in out of public view spot in our master bedroom, I put damaged feet on the back are now not noticeable. I was using an office chair as a dressing chair as at its most lowered height was 15”. It was ugly I wanted to clean up the area on my side of the closet. After looking at many slipper chairs, this bench filled many more needs that I didn’t realize I needed. Its weight capacity is up to 250lbs. As a plus size person this gives me piece of mind that my 200 lbs won’t damage it. Its 16” in height meaning its low enough I can reach my feet to put socks on (main purpose of purchase) dining room chair at 18” was just too high...this height is PERFECT! Storage inside the bench!! My dirty clothes hamper, seasonal shoes jammies all fit inside! What a dream to have dressing area looking clean tidy. Color is more of a grey pattern on beige fabric vs grey white as in description but it still works for my needs.

This bench looks as beautiful as the picture presented. I knew from the other reviews that the storage compartment wasn't that deep, but I'm fine with that .. I have enough room for several throws with room left over. Honestly, I purchased this item for a place for my cat to sleep! I'd been trying to get him off my bed without much luck, but now he's so happy to sleep on the bench (I told him Momma bought it just for him -hehe). So he's happy, I'm happy and it looks terrific in my room. In regard to the arrival of the item: it actually arrived 5 days sooner than the original projected delivery date, although the box was a little beat up, the item inside was just fine with the exception of a tiny piece of wood on one of the legs .. my husband got a splinter while attaching it to the bench. The only suggestion I can make to Wayfair is if possible, have the delivery service ring the doorbell when the item is delivered. I didn't realize it was sitting on my porch until I received a notification from the Wayfair app (which is fantastic!) that the item had been delivered. All in all, I'm extremely pleased :)

Let’s start with the good. Received the bench several days early. Appreciated this because I was able to open the box and get all of the pieces inspected and set out in the garage 5 days before Handy was scheduled to put it together. Paid attention to quite a few reviews that mentioned the paint has a strong smell and needs time to “off-gas” so the smell will dissipate. Another plus, opted for Handy service because reviews mentioned difficulties putting the bench together. My first experience with this service was exceptional. The technician did run into a few of the difficulties mentioned but he was very experienced and handled them perfectly. Couldn’t have been more professional and trustworthy. He put it together where it will reside and moved it into its place, leaving the room immaculate. Would highly recommend if you have a larger piece that may be a challenge to assemble. Another plus, love the look of the bench. Some say the paint color looked off white to them. Mine is white-white. Have ordered some throw pillows for it already. Now for the only negative, hopefully temporary. While the odor that was present in the garage when I first set the pieces out was gone, it came back. This may be partly due to my closing the bedroom door after Handy left, because the dog is not allowed in the bedroom. When the door was opened in the evening, the odor was somewhat strong. Have kept it open since then; put a chair in the doorway that blocks the dog out. This morning (the day after assembly), the odor has dissipated some, but still needs some more time before the room can be slept in. Being winter, can’t open the windows. My advice: read the reviews for yourself and assume that there will be an odor for a time, so you can have a plan to handle it. And if you’re very handy with circumventing a few small issues with assembly, try it yourself. If not, consider paying for Handy to do it. It really is a nice, strong, lovely piece. When the odor dissipates, I will update my review to 5 stars! UPDATE: spoke with Kristy at Wayfair and all is well! She suggested I try using a space heater to blow hot air on the bench and also a fan in the room to ventilate the air. She also called the manufacturer and was told if there was an odor, it would be from the varnish, not the paint. Their suggestion was to put fresher squeeze lemon juice inside the bench and keep the room ventilated. I never had to do this because one day of intermittently using the space heater and constantly running the fan worked! I’m sure the lemon juice and a fan would also work. Thanks Kristy, for the great customer service yet again from Wayfair! I love this bench!

Fabulous item for my space. I had a small entryway (*sniff* I love a nice big entryway that feels like it’s own space to decompress or prepare, but I don’t have one here so I had to get creative!) and still wanted to make it FEEL a little bit like an entryway. This bench fit the bill PERFECTLY, with exactly the right dimensions for the only space that could really work as anything bench-worthy. I absolutely love it and I am so glad I saw it. Not a huge Kallax type of style person (things I did in my younger years homes I am ready to move on from generally) but the baskets look nice and it feels very fitting for shoes or extras to just be tossed in the extra space. It’s FULLY ASSEMBLED which is always key for me as I do NOT build furniture (No THANK You but BLESSINGS on all of you who DO) and the cushion is comfy enough to enjoy sitting on. Total win and price was right for me for it all. Definitely recommend buying, easy and cute option for almost any little spot to brighten up. I did use a dolly to move it.

This bench exceeded my expectations- and I’m pretty fussy LOL. I’ve been looking for a bench for about 6 months. I love wayfair because there are so many options, usually lots of honest reviews and customer photos. This bench was highly rated, seemed to fit the space we had and was the right shade of grey. When it arrived (left on our porch) I was excited to open it because it was also to serve a secondary purpose of helping our pup get up on the bed. Assembly was super easy (screw in 4 legs). The shade of light grey was perfect….soft and fog like which was a perfect complement to our Metropolis Grey mid grey bedroom paint and matched the bedroom sheer grey curtains. It’s firm and seems very durable (we’ve had for a month). The tufting is nice and gives it a more formal, classic look and will hide any spots later although I don’t anticipate any. Perfect length for our queen bed (I wanted something a little longer than than the recommended 43-45” that’s recommended for queen beds and it’s 51” I believe. It’s a little low to the ground but I measured and knew that and I think it looks great and didn’t find this aspect unpleasing. In fact, great for pup. Great deep storage inside the bench too. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

I took all the pieces out of the wrappings and discarded them all. I noticed the rustiness described by another reviewer on the legs. It was not enough for me to complain about. This piece is for the bathroom I share with my 8 year old granddaughter and 14 year old grandson since moving in with my daughter three weeks ago. We have differing needs in the bathroom. Little girl toilet articles live on the side of the sink in a plastic tote bucket. He brings his in. Im used to my own things in their own places. The mom said she didnt care what I did in there. So, the hunt was on...it ended with this small, appropriate piece. Sometimes I want to sit to do some things or just to sit down. Im72. So, my 14 year old grandson was assigned his first building project. I gave him the one page instructions to look over. I gave him the packages of fasteners and the 2 loose ones. He raised one eyebrow I raised mine...he went into the bathroom with his gaming chair. You know the one that slants back, kind of...When I saw him again, the bench was in place under the towel rack. It was just waiting for some of those small, colorful baskets from the dollar store. You can put 3-4 on each shelf. I am so pleased, I could just pop! The kids are thrilled! It isnt flimsy nor kiddy looking. But sleek and inconspicuous. Thanks Wayfair! The commercials are so me! And now, us, cuz my grand sons first building project was a huge success and he couldnt stop smiling! Hahahahaha!

This is a tough one to review. On the one hand- the finished piece is sturdy, solid and beautiful. Fits our needs exactly. On the other hand (and why i had to knock a star off) the assembly side is ridiculous. The instructions are not only unclear, they are INCORRECT. They instruct you to do the OPPOSITE of what needs to be done. I eventually just stopped looking at them and figured it outs myself- which isn’t hard. But really, did anyone proof read these instructions Quick tips- the first step shows to put the center boards on the inside of the wood lips, but they go on the outside of those. Those pieces are also different lengths where they connect to leave space for the board in the back. Pay close attention to that. See the direction they show to put the screws in Do the opposite. Also don’t put the last side piece on before the back panel. All this will make sense once you start assembling. My other advice is to use a power drill but very carefully. I had to redo lots of those pieces as I saw how messed up the instructions were. I’d be a heck of a lot more annoyed if I had to do it all with a hand screw driver. Other reviewers complained about the basket assembly but honestly it was the only straight forward part of it. All in all I’m happy with the purchase but shaking my head at the instructions. I ordered the red color and am very pleased . I was a little nervous since no one else had any pics of the red in the reviews but it looks very nice . It came very well packaged. it was in a box which was inside another larger box and had foam padding all around it . The box was a little beat up from FedEx but the bench was in perfect condition . The baskets are overall nice but I think may fall apart over time as they arent great quality and my kids will be rough with them . The basket size is more for kids shoes then adults . I can fit plenty of kid shoes but only 1 pair of my husbands sneakers and flip flops in 1 basket so keep that in mind. The baskets are a snug fit and do scratch the inside of the bench as you pull them out but you never see that really so I dont mind The drawers do stick, as others have said, because of the way the track just running on the wood, which is not a smooth surface like a metal track woukd be, which is annoying but its still usable and not unbearable . Overall Im happy with the product and glad it camein good condition which is always a risk you take when ordering anything online and its in the hands of mail people .

Love this bench! It is a little smaller than the one I was originally looking at but for the price I couldn’t pass it up. The bench looks exactly as pictured online and I did not experience the funny smell that some people talked about. The feet were easy to put on, the top stays open on its own and shuts completely. I fit 2 king sized quilts and 5 king sized sheet sets plus some extra pillow cases in there (so not too bad for a smaller bench!) I am strictly using it for extra bedding storage at the foot of my bed and it absolutely serves its purpose! My cat loves laying on it too and because of the different coloring woven into the beige color it hides the cat hair pretty well! Overall I love it and would recommend and purchase again!

I was looking for the perfect bench for my foyer, in my new home. I saw what I wanted in a model home and I just had to have that same one! The bench needed to be navy and I knew the length I needed also. I started my search on line, hoping I could find the closest navy bench to the one in the model home. I searched and searched and then I found what looked to be just like that one I needed, on Wayfair. I was just about exact!! I ordered it, it came quickly and I opened it and it was just what I wanted!! It was packed really good, so it would not break in delivery and I was able to put the 4 legs on easily and the navy upholstery was beautiful and the tufts in the top lid were wonderful. It is spacious enough to store pillows and/or blankets or other items to hid away. It looks beautiful in my entryway, with a couple of different colored pillows propped up in one of the corners. I get compliments on it ALL THE TIME!! And the price was fantastic!! I love everything about this bench!!

I purchased this in the light sky blue and I am very happy with the color. For me, the hardest thing with online shopping is getting the color right, so in an attempt to help others that struggle with this, I would describe it as a light blue with possible very subtle gray undertones (definitely not yellow or green undertones). I purchased it to go in a room with white walls and off-white carpet, adjacent to a room with pale gray walls and it works perfectly. I plan to go with a few accents of either navy blue or cobalt (I haven't decide which yet) and it will pair well with either of those. Yes, it is a bit close to the ground (the top of the seat area is 14.5" from the ground) but it works for my family as we are only using it as an entryway bench and to any kind of long-term seating. I think it would be possible to purchase taller legs to screw in if you wanted to.

This bench is exactly what I need for my foyer. I needed a place to dump my purse and work-bag, as well as change shoes. The benefit for me was the storage. It isn't deep and I was contemplating using it for purse storage, but realized there was an even better use for the storage, my sunglasses! I have a large collection and didn't really have an easy to get to while I am on my way out the door location and this suits perfectly! The bench storage is large enough for flats, small purses, hats, scarves and the like. In the image there are about 25 pairs of sunglasses ranging from large to small. It's perfect for me. I still have plenty of room on shelf below and floor to NEATLY place shoes and slippers for when I come home. This was a great purchase. It's sturdy, can fit 2 people comfortably ( I am NOT a small woman), or your kids when tying laces at the last minute. The color is true to photo and suites apartment living. CAVEAT: Read the instructions FULLY and measure out which screws go where PRIOR to build. It's not very clear unless you do that first.

Love the style, size, construction price. My only disappointment is the awful stench of the fabric or filling. Have aired it for five days in the garage used an entire bottle of Fabreeze on it which has helped but still not rid the piece of the lingering odour. Update on my previous review....I have now had this bench 13 months. Noticed this morning that the fabric is coming apart at one seam along one tuft. Wayfair unwilling to do anything as I am 1 month beyond it’s warranty period of one year. It gave me a telephone number for the furniture manufacturer. When I contacted it I was told that as a wholesale company it does not deal with 3rd parties. It suggested that Wayfair could submit a request to it for replacement of the damaged item. I called Wayfair again but again it told me it couldwould not help me as I was 1 month beyond it’s warranty period. I have been a longtime customer of Wayfair having purchased many items from it over the years. I am extremely disappointed in disheartened with it’s refusal to do anything to correct this problem. Lesson here is....don’t buy from Wayfair again.

Purchased three of these in blue for our vacation rental house. The entryway has a small niche and this was the perfect size to fit but still not block the double doors. I like that it’s a storage spot but also a useful bench to sit down on to put shoes on/take off (which will be needed for our target clientele that are mostly older). I’m going to mount a sign above it saying “leave your worries and your shoes by the door.” I also purchased one for inside the garage next to the entry door and one for inside the main suite’s closet. Two arrived slightly damaged with cracks, splits and chips in various spots. I was able to compile the “good pieces” to assemble two and called Wayfair for a replacement of the third. My business rep was super friendly as was the customer service rep that handled the replacement. I was so happy that I ordered another one in gray for a different property and I will definitely be ordering more for our future vacation rental houses.

It's a great little storage bench that works well in our narrow front hallway. Our old boot tray even fits on the shoe shelf, which we're using to protect the wood from shoe grime. As other reviewers have mentioned, the instructions were a bit lacking in specifics, but ultimately it wasn't terribly difficult to put together. The hinge for the lid was bent out of shape when I pulled the pieces out of the box, but I was able to bend it back to relatively the right position. The only complaint I have is there are no markings on the inside of the storage space to indicate where you need to screw in the hinge. We had to do some trial and error to figure that out, but it would have helped to have pre-drilled holes or at least some marks to tell you where to line up the screw plate, since it's already tricky to hold the lid half-open and get in there and figure out where to put the screws.

Happy with this, and glad I chose it over others for the extra shoe spots. Each shoe space is a little tight, but I am able to put a pair of Merril shoes (which are bigger, almost like boots) in one if I angle them correctly and put one on top of the other, or push one all the way in and the other in front of it. That's one of the pluses, actually, it is deep enough to mostly put one shoe in front of the other. It's not real wood or hard wood but MDF, as is clear in the description, but it is quite sturdy and I can easily sit on it without concern. My one worry is how it will hold up from any type of moisture from the bottom of shoes since the covering over the MDF isn't the highest quality I've seen (I could easily see this bubbling up or something if it got wet) but we shall see. I intend to place wet or damp shoes on a mat because I wouldn't trust this with those. The hardware used for it was quality and better than some other MDF or cheaper pieces I've put together. Instructions weren't the clearest but overall it was simple enough to assemble that they were still adequate. It's a great size, not too tall or imposing, and fits nicely under own window. It is also long enough that we place multiple bags and the like on top and still have enough room for a seat. So, all in all, really helps make our entry way keep clean and organized.

It is cute enough and it gets the job done! We wanted something in our doorway that could hold shoes (We are a no shoes on in the house family). We wanted something that would allow our guests to sit while taking their shoes off at our door. This bench has done just that. The pillow top it comes with must have some sort of coating on it because one of our dogs is obsessed with licking it. LOL. It is cute and functional, but not fabulous, so I gave it 4 stars and not 5. It does the trick and is better than average, but it is not fabulous. For the discounted price we paid, I would buy it again. But I would not pay more than $175 or so for it. Apparently, it was marked at $465 at one point, I would NEVER pay that much for it. Like I said if you find it for $175 or less, it is worth that, anything more than that, I would keep shopping.

It’s pretty much assembled, just have to add the legs . It is sturdy , fits lots of things inside, deep storage . I use it for my daughters toys . I bought 2 of them . Keeps my living room neat and clean. The open lid stays up until you have to push it back down which I love that it has that because I don’t have to worry about my little one pinching her fingers . It’s very cushioned. Sometimes when I have my older kids put there feet up on it the deep button pockets on top collects dirt. But I just left the top lid and tap it off . I try not to use a brush with bristles. So it won’t ruined the fabric. It’s not supper heavy, it’s light weight but made I’d good quality. I have to remind my 4 year old not to climb in it so it doesn’t wear out quickly. All though I must admit I have found her climb in it a few times and has not tore through the bottom . The bottom has a couple of solid wood pieces but it’s not through the whole bottom section. It does have like a thin plywood too. I have had people sit on it as much as 200 pounds at a time and it holds very well .I have had these 2 storage benches for about 8 months and they have held up very well . I f I had to purchase any as a gift for someone I would . I highly recommend these . Please note I did not receive these for free or any discounted price for my honest review. I just wanted to share my review on them because I too go by reviews when I purchase things online. It’s what helps me decide what works for me . Extra tip here if the fabric gets dirty try using a car Upholstery cleaner. I use Blue Coral . It pulls any stains up from the surface. And smells very nice . I have included photos with a Room spray bottle so you can compare it with size difference. Note it might look small but the storage is great. Hope this helps .
