When I first got this safe it was brought to me within two days of purchase, but the keys were locked inside. I said something to wayfair and they immediately sent me a new one. Talk about great customer service. This is perfect for apartments and hiding small valuables. Pros: Great value, perfect size Cons: None

I really like this safe, it is very nice overall, but the battery tray has a design flaw. There are notches in the plastic battery tray that restrict the batteries from making contact. At first, I thought that the safe was defective, until I isolated the problem to the battery tray. I was able to fix the problem by putting pieces of aluminum foil in the tray to complete the metal to battery contact. I called Sentry safe customer service, which was excellent, the and they sent me out a replacement battery tray. However, the replacement tray had the same problem. Which leads me to believe that this is a design flaw with the tray. This safe is otherwise a 5 star product, but I can't believe that I am the only person that has experienced this issue. It's very unfortunate that a great product such as this is tainted by a very inexpensive design flaw.

I looked at several safes before I purchased this model made by Sentry. I am very happy with my decision. It is the perfect size. You can fit documents without having to fold them. It has a key instead of a combination to open it. If you register the safe and ever need to replace the key, it is an easy process. Sentry has been making safes for a long time therefore you shouldn't have to worry about the company being around in your lifetime. It's a great safe for the money.

I like this safe because it seems very protective and strong. I bought it to protect a unopened and uncommon over 10 year old Korean drama DVD(s) I own in the event of a fire I hope never happens. I put the DVD in a ziplock plastic bag, wrapped in in shrink wrap and will put it in Tupperware because the manual says that the case has a insulation which has a high moisture content. I haven't detected any moisture on the plastic it is in and it has been in there for a day now. I believe it says this because of in the event of a fire, I believe the moisture may escape insulation and get inside the case, or it means that inside moisture from the environment gets trapped. Either way I will test it periodically to ensure no moisture is collecting on the plastic. Finally I like how if something moderately heavy for instance falls on the safe the dvd will be protected from physical damage. I also put some important papers inside of it, but before placed them a ziplock plastic bag also. Even though the safe has a lock and key, I didn't get it to lock it up and am not rating the strength of the lock. The dvd I put in the case is not worth a lot of money value wise (maybe 100 bucks) but is basically irreplaceable if damaged.

The safe was great for its size for home use. It is a bit expensive but for the features and size it seems equivalent to other manufacturer products. It came with two adjustable felt covered shelves. The skeleton keys are necessary if the battery operated keypad failed for any reason, which is great. But also a security risk if you happen to keep them any were near the safe where they could be found. The keypad is plastic device that takes AA batteries. Nice that there is factory key that can be used if you forget your custom key configuration. Again, keep that with the skeleton keys, not in location accessible near safe. I still bought water/fireproof sleeves for our documents just in case as well as documents put on to shelf not close to base. There are two holes on the back which do not seem to be blocked. For mounting I assume to back wall. Plus the two holes for bolting to floor. So just in case got sleeves as extra layer protection for the docs. The thinness of the base where the bolt holes are of concern to me. Meaning, I could rock the safe a little as the thinness flexes a little after bolted down through the. But, if someone plans to try to take the safe it will cause them some effort. Enough to make noticeable noise if you are home. Also those holes even with the little rubber disks provided still is a possible water breach. Would be better to have a more pliable plug to use over the bolt heads. There were reports of people using circular saws to gain access into the safe. But then again any safe is likely be accessible given heavy duty saw The only complaints are the insufficient screws (plastic anchor) provided (we got more appropriate cement wedge anchor bolts). The other minor complaint is the interior openings at base for bolts, leaves holes in the fabric. It would have of been nicer had another fabric covered plate to lay over bottom been provided to cover them up. So far its great. But time will tell.

Bought this fire safe to protect important documents from fire. It is just the right size to store papers and file folders without folding them. Saw other reviews about problems with the key, but mine worked fine had no problem at all. Also saw some negative reviews about the lock being able to be picked. Keep in mind that this is a fire safe meant to protect contents from fire not a security safe. The only negative I would give it is, it really needs a set of handles. I was going to put it on an upper shelf, but at around 28 lbs. it would be hard for the wife to get it down. Put it on a lower floor level shelf so it can easily be slid out. Definitely recommend this product.

I bought this safe in order to keep my pistols and important documents safe. I have been really impressed by its quality and the keypad feels well built. The two thick, steel bars that lock the safe when closed and latched give me a great feeling of security. I would recommend this safe to anyone looking to keep important documents, it has a shelf as well so you can separate the things you are locking up. It also comes with the necessary components to secure the safe to your floor. Just for reference, I’m able to comfortably fit two mid sized 9mm pistols, six magazines, all of my important documents, pistol/rifle cleaning kit and accessories, and that’s just on the bottom level. With the shelf installed I’m able to fit several other items. To sum up, this safe is definitely worth the price.

Very secure safe with electronic entry and key backup that both worked easily. Sturdy and heavy duty with three shelves allowing plenty of room for valuables. The only improvement I would prefer that it not beep every time you press a key to open it. Would be more secure if it were quieter. Otherwise love this safe!

I loved the warranty on this SAFE I would love to know that any item I purchased but a SAFE with a limited 10year warranty is GREAT! I LOVE that this is FIRE proof and has MUCH ROOM! To store your valuables. This is my first and only probably my last SAFE This is FIRE PROOF SO WHATEVER PAPERS ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A LOT LIKE ME! I NEED TO BELIEVE THAT WHAT I HAVE PURCHASED HAS VALUE AND THE WARRANTY TELLS ME THIS COMPANY HAS TAKEN TIME TO ESTABLISH THE# 1 RULE VALUE!

We purchased this for our church office, to make it easy for folks to drop checks off in between deposits. It's a perfect size and it is easy to set the code. I was also pleased the there are pre-drilled holes in the bottom (2) and back (2), which I didn't see noted at the time of purchase. This allows us to secure the safe.

I love this book, its much larger than i expected which for me is definitely a plus. Ive had it out inplain sight and no one has bothered in taking a second look at it so it definitely serves its purpose. I like that it actually has real pages and so if you were to just feel it you wouldnt suspect there was anything inside. The one improvement they could make would be in the cheaply made hard cover it just doesnt look as if it will hold up for long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lets focus on the things I do like. I love how heavy duty this is, it isn't made from cheap flimsy materials. I love that it has a digital keypad instead of your typical combo lock. It is spacious so we have several things inside with our keys. I also love that it has the slot in the corner to drop keys into without having to open the door every time. It is very user friendly and super easy to set up/ change the combination you pick. The only problem I have with this and the reason it lost a star is because of the "handle" to open the door. It is a fairly small circle that feels like it may be made of plastic that is honestly a little hard to hold on to with how heavy the little door is. It really needs a small handle, even if they keep the circle to turn the lock there needs to be something to hand on to that you can pull the door open with. I am a woman with smaller hands so it was a little easier for me but anyone with larger hands may struggle a bit to open the door. Other than that it is really nice and does exactly what it was intended for.

Sentry Safes are rated the best & I needed this safe for my home. I was impressed by the safe’s qualities. It has key access, discrete cover, and opens a double protruding barrel made of steel that engages out when locking. That alone is security. The safe door with this is so strong and heavy. I feel secure. And then additional digital combination number pad with your code is a bonus. Punch code & also engage secret key, which is covered! Comes with large capacity, divided by a single shelf which bottom is carpeted and soft. Plenty of room. Spacious. And in addition, Sentry includes pre drilled holes, two, to bolt the safe at your residence. It’s a win-win situation for this small but really nice safe by Sentry. Thus with key & code it’s a dual locking system. Price at Wayfarer was a plus! And Sentry’s warranty is nice as well as Wayfarer. Love my Purchase. Feel more secure! Thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Steel Digital Depository Safe with Digital Keypad is well made, sturdy, and protects against robbery and theft. The whole safe is made with steel and has a 1/2 inch thick steel door which makes stealing stuff harder. The safe include instructions on how to set up the pin number and two extra keys incase you forgot the pin number. I find the instructions that are included to be helpful and easy to assemble. The whole safe is battery oporated for the digital keypad to work and has to be replaced with 9V battery and will make noise to let me know when the battery is low. If you put in the wrong pin code too many times it will go in lockdown mode and prevent anyone else from entering the safe. There is also a thing to be noted is that the keypad can be unlocked to put the battery and key inside. It's very useful in knowing this and helps in case you forgot the pin number. Not many people will know that you can do this feature and it's noticable either. I like that it is discreet and easy to access. I like that the deposit slip is easy to put in money or important papers inside without having to open it all the time and I don't have to worry about someone opening this safe because secure and I can even mount it to the floor to prevent someone taking it too. This safe is worth looking into and has great features.

Very pretty, Before I purchased the Chest I read the reviews and paid attention to difficulty level to put the chest together. I saw nothing that lead me to believe it was more difficult than putting a wardrobe with drawers together. When assembling the chest I discovered that pilot holes had not been drilled for attaching the the inside locking lid and the top lid. Neither were any markings or pilot holes to guide placing the side hinges for the top lid. I am waiting for a friend, and the time to finish the chest. The last step a helper was needed. The Chest is nice as far as it is assembled. I would recommend some carpenter type experience to facilitate ease of assembly. Pros: Sturdy Nice finish Cons: Assembly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a hefty upgrade to our previous safe. I love that it's secure, and it has manual keys if necessary. When you open the safe there is a light on the inside of the door that shines into the safe. When setting your own security pin, I would recommend reading the manual. It's not hard, but it recommends a 6 digit pin. The safe comes with batteries for the digital keypad, and it also comes with bolts and nuts to mount the safe to a desk or shelf, etc. the top of the handle opens to allow a manual key to open the safe if necessary. As long as your child does not try to push buttons, they should last quite a while, while also powering the light inside the door. What I DO NOT like... The shelf is not very big at all. There are tons of positions to put the shelf holders in, but this is about 7 inches wide and 6 inches deep. It holds quite a bit! The manual does say you can go online and request an additional shelf, but it only comes with one shelf as is. I would prefer the option to use a shelf as a divider that goes vertically rather than a small 6 inch shelf. Overall, it's great, easy to set up and is very sturdy!

Pros: - Large enough to fit a sheet of letter-size paper and my precious Mortal Combat CD - It's heavy and the chest itself feels solid and very well made Cons: - The handle is too flimsy and made of plastic, it feels like it was not designed to carry such weight - Chest latches are made of plastic with tiny spring mechanism. Looks a bit fragile. Note that this chest has to be opened for 30 minutes weekly for ventilation and to reduce moisture inside.

Hopefully I never have to find out if this safe will stand up to fire and water, as it is advertised, but the look and functionality of the safe is of high quality. It is very sturdy yet easy to slide across carpet and vinyl flooring (even without the optional wheels), and I only weigh about 30 pounds more than this safe! It does NOT look cheap. The lid also closes nicely. When it is about 4 inches from closing, if you let the lid go, it will slowly close, so there is likely no chance of pinching your fingers when closing the lid. My last safe had a key and padlock with the door opening in the front. However, the door and padlock broke on the old one (not this style or brand), and it took some prying to get my things out of that old safe. I think this one will be nicer with only a key and a lid that lifts upward. Also, this new safe is a little smaller than my old one, but with how it is designed, I was able to fit more into this new one. Also, instead of stacking my papers on a shelf so that I would have to remove the top ones to get to the bottom, with this safe I can put the papers across (like a file system) and easily find the document I need without having to remove all the others. I'm very happy with my purchase!

I have been searching for a safe for many months & every time I thought I found one I’d read customer’s reviews & they’d change my mind because of all the problems they had with locks, batteries, handles, etc. I then found this safe that met everything I was looking for with not a one bad review. It came well wrapped, is fire & waterproof, needs no batteries for a lock cause it closes with a key. It came with a set of two keys. It is very spacious inside & the bonus is its on wheels! You can hide it in a closet & just wheel it out when you need access. It may have taken me months to find the perfect safe but it was worth the research cause this safe is 100% perfect!
