Just bought four of these - three for the kitchen of our "downsize" townhome, and one more for the laundry room. All boxes were delivered together and a day early, with no damage to boxes or inside parts. All the pieces were there, save one single screw, which we easily found a replacement for. Love the look, (they match any standard white cabinet kitchen, even ours which date back to 2009), and the color is perfect (I worried our old cabinets would look a bit yellow in comparison, but they don't.) I love the soft close hardware and hidden hinges, and they hold a TON of stuff. I've now started streamlining the kitchen, and I've got PLENTY of pantry space for now and forever! Nothing is sitting out anymore, unless I want it to be. YAYYY! We actually hired someone to do the putting together - the guy had the four of them assembled and perfectly installed in just over four hours. They are straight and level, (the legs adjust so you can get it just right, same way a refrigerator's legs work), and he bolted them to the walls to make them untippable too. (Anti-tip hardware is included.) I think they will last for years. They aren't the strongest or most sturdy units ever made - and I am going to need to be careful not to weigh them down with much more than the stated weight limits, but I think for the price they are just perfect. We intend to gut our kitchen and redo it if we end up keeping this townhouse for the long haul, but it just wasn't working the way it was. This gave us the freedom of a cheap solution to the lack of space, and now we have time to wait till the appliances wear out AND we have it in the budget to go for a big kitchen redo. Perfect solution for the two of us!

Set this bad boy up late last year, and it's been lovely. We use it typically a few times per day and it shows no signs of wear as far as I can tell. No squeaky or sagging doors. Easily wipes clean. I don't recall that assembly was too difficult, but I did have my husband working on it with me. When we first set it up, it seemed a bit dangerously unstable -- when the doors were open and the cabinet was empty, it wanted to lean forward. I adjusted the legs so the cabinet leaned slightly backward and bought a kit to attach the unit securely to the wall. And honestly... I have not used the kit. We loaded up the cabinet with the things we wanted to store in it and the weight is enough to counterbalance the doors, so the unit doesn't wobble even if you aren't particularly gentle opening or closing it. I still should probably install the wall bracket kit, but I feel comfortable leaving it on the procrastination list for now. If you have small creatures at home who might try to hang on the doors or climb the shelves... maybe put the wall bracket on your "do sooner" list. Overall: great purchase, this thing is a lifesaver for storing unsightly things in a low-sq. ft. area. EDIT: It looks like a number of reviewers have complaints about how the doors hang, or insist that the holes are drilled wrong. The hinges on this cabinet are VERY adjustable via those little screws. If the doors don't look right out of the box, you will probably have to make some adjustments to the hinges to get them properly square -- maybe have someone support the weight of each door while you work.

Good value
Appearance five stars. Looks tough and is. Will fit in most places, except formal living areas. :o) Four and one-half stars for quality because the drilled-out assembly holes (you won't understand what I'm talking about until you open the box) sometimes didn't go all the way through, and the scraps were left inside the walls and doors. I had to shake all the pieces out before assembling; otherwise they would have rattled around inside forever. Study the diagram on the outside of the box - there's no assembly sheet inside. And if you don't have a rubber hammer, get one. They're not expensive. Following these guidelines you should easily be able to assemble the thing in less than 15 minutes. Durability five stars. This thing is sturdy. Only had it for a week, but as we're using it inside, it will probably outlive me. The box was nearly worn through on the bottom and had obviously been dropped a good time or two in transit. But even with some visible signs of abuse it didn't compromise its strength. If this happens to you, just assemble the unsightly parts toward the rear. Four stars for ease of use, and the one real complaint: The very feature that accounts for much of the ease of assembly and strength (internal corner columns) also makes for a fair amount of binding of the doors, as these columns also serve as the hinges. You will probably have to rap the doors into place with your hand or foot when closing. If anything has the potential to shorten the life of the cabinet during everyday use, it will be the plastic-on-plastic rubbing every time the doors are opened or closed.

Great value. Customer service is outstanding
About this set of cabinets about four months ago and man am I glad I did. They make such a great addition to my new garage. Two of my tall cabinets were damaged upon Arrival. I called customer service the next morning and was surprised to learn that they immediately offered me two replacement cabinets or a credit for the damage to the two cabinets. The cabinets are built very good and the shelves hold a lot of weight. The rolling tool carts worked out well for me because my toolbox was overloaded and crowded with tools. I was able to take some of the tools out of my toolbox and organize them into the two rolling carts and now I can see each and every tool that I own. I purchased the slat wall kit with my cabinets and I even ordered an accessory kit which made the slat wall so nice. Now I can see the tools that I use on a daily basis without having to dig through drawers in my toolboxes. Thanks New Age for making a great product and thank you for an outstanding customer service department. I am in the process of building a 1500 square-foot detached garage that I will add these cabinets to as soon as it is finished. I’ll post pictures of both garages once I get My next set of cabinets from New Age. I do not need to look and compare cabinets any longer because I know for the money you cannot beat these cabinets.

Super Value!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a garage full of pre-assembled Gladiator cabinets along a wall of my garage. I jumped at the chance to review the Ready-to-Assemble unit and see how they compare to my existing pre-assembled cabinets at a 35%-40% lower price point. Assembly took approximately 40 minutes including unpacking and organizing the materials and the parts. The packaging was done very well and there were no damaged parts; nothing bent or scratched. I was impressed that there was 1 extra set of hardware for each screw or washer type required for the cabinet. I get to toss them into my spare hardware bucket but did not have to go scrounging for a screw or even worse going to the hardware store or calling the maker!! The unit came together very easily. In normal 'caveman' fashion I ignored the instructions and tried to put do some of the build with the unit standing up and struggled trying to keep everything straight and standing without a third hand. A quick look at the instructions straightened me out!! I laid the unit down on the empty box and the back slipped right in place. The back pieces slide upward into notches on the back with is initially counter intuitive until realizing at the end of the build that the back and not the frame carries the weight of the cabinet when hung on the wall. Standing the unit up on the box and turning around to put the doors in proved to be a little challenging. 1) the unit may be slightly racked / out of square even with the back installed; 2) the doors need to be centered between the top and bottom of the opening so the door does not drag or rub on the cabinet; 3) alignment of the doors to each other. I put in 2 screws in the hinge to hold the door on. I used a small piece of wood as a spacer under the door to hold it off of the bottom of the inside of the cabinet. Then I pushed on the outside corner to make the door square in the opening (same parallel gap at the top and bottom of the door. Tightened the middle screw and tested door adjusting up/down slightly to center in the opening. Added/tightened remaining screws. Next did the same thing with the 2nd door and really focused on aligning the tops of both doors so they would match. This was not overly difficult but did take the most effort / time out of the whole build. Comparing this unit to my existing cabinets turns out to be not quite apples to apples. The are not as sturdy but they are also have a lower weight rating (150 lbs vs 200 lbs for the pre-assembled). My sturdy comment is only because it is not welded together and you can force some movement if you try. This is not really relevant for a wall cabinet though as it will only see use through the amount of weight and the opening/closing of the doors. I don't consider this a detractor. These units do not have locks (I don't use the locks on a majority of my cabinets). My only real concern with the cabinet is the hanger. The hanger uses the back wall of the cabinet to hang the wall bracket. I would've thought this would be in the frame. I'm sure it will carry the load though and wouldn't hesitate loading it up. I really like the lower price point, ease of assembly, look and feel as well as the functionality. The spare screws and they organized way they were packaged was a nice touch. Overall I will consider these as I finish out my shop. They provide a good value option over the pre-assembled units allowing me to go farther within my existing budget.

Wow....easy to assemble dream cabinet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You know, I've always wanted one of these. I just never got around getting one for myself until now. I am certainly glad that I did. This cabinet came to the door without a mark on the box or anything inside. I included a picture that shows how it was when I opened the box very well packed. After I unpacked it and looked at the directions, it took me about an hour to get to the second picture which is basically the box built. after that it took me another half an hour to complete the project to include the doors and the back braces that are used to hang the cabinet on the wall to keep from tipping over. I must say that it's specially, but putting the doors on was incredibly intuitive and easy. they included a slot at the bottom and the top of the door similar to a picture hanging slot that you could hang the doors on two screws that are started. from there you just align the doors and tighten all the other screws. Ask for the cabinet, super high-quality. The finishes are sick and will be there for a long time. the shelves are movable and adjustable and sturdy. The doors are diamond played and have a locking system that cannot be picked and a magnet system that runs the length of the door to ensure the doors stay closed. This cabin is super heavy duty and will hold a whole bunch of things inside of it. Each shelf seems very sturdy I could pretty much put most of my weight on them and they would be just fine. in conclusion, very happy with this cabinet I will look for and by others when I get the chance complete outfitting my garage in a professional-looking storage system.

Want To Fill My Garage With These
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like my GearBox. It was delivered on time and in perfect condition. The assembly took about an hour but was less complicated than I expected. Everything fit together well. I had read some reviews saying that the doors didn't line up properly, but there are adjustable feet on the bottom that allow you to square everything up and once you make the needed adjustments, everything lines up perfectly. I have a few suggestions on how this item could be made better, but they are really subjective and personal preferences and not necessities. For one, I would like both doors to have the magnets to stay closed, that way, when I open the right door, which overlaps the left door, the left door can stay shut if I don't need it open, I could probably adjust the front feet to angle it back a tad and this wouldn't be an issue, but having both doors magnetized to stay closed would be nice. I think it would also be nice to be able to secure the doors in the open position, that way if I am trying to put something big on a shelf, the doors can be secured open and won't get in the way, again, not a big deal and can probably be helped by adjusting the front feet, but an actual magnet or clasp to hold the doors open would be great. Other than that, I think my only other suggestion would be to include a cut-out which users could pass an extension/power cable through, that way power tools could be charging while stored in the cabinet. Again, these aren't really necessary, and I can probably customize the GearBox myself to have these features, but I figured I would mention the few areas that I thought could be improved. They seem to make a wide variety of items for your garage, including tool chests, wall hanging systems, flooring, workbenches, and even appliances, and I think it would be great to fill my garage with these matching products, so I think I going to start buying the whole collection to really kit-out my garage.

I had three of these items ordered. The delivery people brought them right to my door. On first inspection, all of the outer cardboard boxes were intact with no visible damages. There were some scrapes, which was not surprising considering the weight of the boxes. The packing was excellent and everything arrived safely. I brought them into my garage to start the assembly. I opened the first box and inspected all of the contents, checking all of the parts and quantities. Everything was there with some extra parts like nails. I read through the construction manual while taking a break and gathered the tools I needed for the assembly. Everything was standard tools, such as a tape measure, phillips screwdriver, small hammer. The V shaped packing material was ideal for use as supports on the floor to keep all the parts off the cement floor and prevented any scratches from happening. I took my time doing the first cabinet, and it took me approximately 20 minutes to assemble the box. One of the most important steps is to square the cabinet before installing the back panel. The corner to corner measurements must be as close to the same as possible. I would suggest that once you have the back panel evenly space on the cabinet, nail the back panel by doing all four corners first. Two nails in each corner will hold the cabinet square and the panel secured enough to nail in the rest of the nails. I installed the doors after I stood the cabinet up, placed it in its location and levelled it front to back and top to bottom. I then secured it to the wall with the provided hardware. Installing the doors can be trick if you are working alone, but not impossible. I am very pleased with the quality of the materials and how easily they went together. It took about 2 hours to assemble all three cabinets. I would not hesitate to order more of their products, they are well made and the process is well thought out.
