Best Craft & Sewing Tables With Reviews

I assembled a large TV stand and this sewing table yesterday. The TV stand looked more daunting, but this, which I thought would be easier, actually took longer. The item was well packed for shipping. Everything was undamaged, and all the parts and hardware were present. The problem with the assembly was that the instructions have too few steps and diagrams, and it can be hard to determine what hardware matches the diagrams. More diagrams with only one hardware pointed out in each diagram would have made it more clear. Others have mentioned the last two steps are difficult, because the diagrams are too busy. That being said, while I sometimes had to puzzle over the assembly, I only had one issue, where I miss assembled one piece of the lower shelve and it just took a few minutes to dis and assemble that part before moving on. I did assemble it by myself in a few hours. The hardware can be a bit daunting, (cam bolts and such). But it only requires a phillips screwdriver. There's a lot of hardware, but the packages of the hardware are well marked. The wooden pieces were all adequately and completely drilled, and once you begin, you can see that the cam bolts fit only in the cam bolt holes, the wooden dowels only go in drill holes that don't have a corresponding opening for a cam bolt or a machine nut, and the machine nuts are smaller than the cam bolts, so where they go is perfectly clear. In that regard, you hardly need the instructions for hardware assembly, though you do need them for the wooden pieces. Oh, I was confused about assembling the drop leaf hinge but got that right the second time after a few minutes delay. While it took a while to assemble, it seems like it is going to be pretty sturdy, except that I am concerned that the screws holding the drop leaf portion are shallow and the drop leaf being heavy, I just wonder that they'll hold up, since most of the time I expect the drop leave to be down except when the table is in use. I suspect the finish is going to be fragile. That being said, the table was a GREAT value, and I'm satisfied with the purchase. I think it is worth what I paid. If you want an inexpensive sewing machine cart, this is a good choice at a great price. Pros: good value, mobile Cons: assembly was not difficult, but took a couple of hours. Worried about the drop leaf holding over time through somewhat shallow screws

I bought this because after moving, my sewing room is smaller and I needed to get rid of my heavier Sauder cabinet. The size of this is perfect for my new room! Assembly was SUPER EASY!!! I did it by myself except for one step that needed my husband help. Just pictures but very easy and spot on! I have 2 things that make my rating 4 stars instead of 5. One is that the adjustable shelf for the sewing machine doesn't go low enough for my machine sewing surface to be flush with the table. I need one more drop on that part of the machine and I think it'd be better. The other one, and I read several other reviewers who had this same problem...the shelves don't all slide easily. The top drawer is perfect. But the bottom 2 drawers are sticky and have to be slammed in. I am pretty good at figuring out another way, but these shelves baffle me. I have yet to sew on it, but I'm sure I'll need to adjust my machine somehow for the sewing surfaces to be flush...or else I'll just get used to a different feel than what I was used to! All in all, a great buy for the money.

So far so good. I bought two of these tables. Assembly took a while, but the steps were very clear, the parts were marked and everything needed, other than a Phillips head screwdriver, was provided. I only had trouble with one step, attaching the swing legs to the base, as lining up the screws with the holes in each of the places was challenging. Seemed to work better with the unit on its side rather than standing up. Also, it really is important to have a second person to help to pick up the table top and put it on the base. It's possible that I could have done it myself, but between the weight of the table top and the folding leaves, it could also have been a disaster. Size and height are great for what I wanted, a surface where I could assemble quilt tops, batting and backs in preparation for basting. I particularly like the fact that when the sides are down, the tables have a very narrow footprint which allows me to move them away for storage. All in all, this seems like an excellent value for the price. Also, delivery was super fast.

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. The quality is what you would expect for this price point - not great, but it serves its purpose. It was pretty easy to assemble although a couple of the bolt holes did not line up perfectly - those pieces required a little extra effort to get the bolts through them. The outside corners of the table will flex if enough weight/pressure is put on them, so I don't recommend putting a sewing machine or heavy objects on the corners, but they are certainly strong enough for cutting fabric or doing other "crafty" things. The center area of the folding folding panels are pretty sturdy.

I love this cutting/crafting table, which arrived in perfect condition. It's versatile because I can adjust the size I want it to be, either slightly over half (34 1/2" x 35 1/2") or full (adds 24" more inches in length). I'm glad for the storage underneath, too. My husband put it together for me while I was at work, and he reports that although it wasn't difficult to put together, it took him awhile--most of the morning--to get it done. He set the height at 35 1/2 inches, which works very well for 5' 4'' me. The surface is evenly flat and the sides are perfectly flush with the middle, with no gaps or unevenness. Even with the wheels locked (apparently, the four middle wheels lock; the two outer wheels do not), it wiggles a wee bit on our old, uneven oak floor, so I'm going to get a rug to put under it (yes, I'm shopping on Wayfair for that, too). I highly recommend this crafting/cutting table.

Exactly what I was looking for. Can be assembled with desk in the right or left. I assembled myself. Hardest part was carrying up stairs. Had to open the box where it was dropped off by shipping and carry pieces upstairs as the box was very large and too heavy for me. That was the hardest part. Took me about 3 hours. I used a screw gun, hammer, screw driver and some other basic tools. The screw gun was clutch. You may want to have extra wood glue handy I was very sparing and worked hard to use every last drop. Also can pull the desk piece out some to get more leg room which is nice. It is heavy particle board not solid wood. Color was great and all pets were packaged well, no damage or scratches which was great.

This cabinet requires assembly and it is NOT for the fainthearted. I counted out every piece and checked everything over before beginning. Make sure you have some WD-40 on hand...I had to wait a day while I got that. The tolerances are pretty sloppy and you have to take great care to be sure everything goes together nicely. Inserting the many cambolts is really a pain, and one of the inserts that a cambolt screws into was defective. I called Arrow cabinets and they sent a new insert and cambolt, which arrived 3 days later (frustrating to wait, but they did their best). It really does take 2 people to hang the doors, the gate leg and the large leaf. Once it is all together, it is a great cabinet. I have it set up with my sewing machine, serger and a computer. I love that it all folds up quite compactly and that it locks shut, with a key. My serger is a fairly large Singer Pro 5 (5 thread), and it fits nicely into the cubby designed to hold it. If it wasn't such a pain to assemble, and waiting for a defective part to be replaced, I would give it 5 stars. The other thing is that now I have to wait a few more weeks to get the insert to fit my machine. I suggest ordering that as soon as you order the cabinet.

Despite this desk being a bit challenging to put together, you definitely need two people, it is a fabulous little desk. It is a great space saver and is super cute, I love the chalk board option. My 10 yr old Daughter and 7 year old Son love the desk. There is just enough storage for kids or if you want to use the desk for guests or to do bills. It hangs well, seems to be sturdy and made fairly well, but you do have to be careful with it when folding and unfolding and I wouldn't put a lot of heavy pressure or heavy items on the desk.

This is a very convenient cover to protect my table and prevent my machines from rattling. However, the fabric is predisposed to collecting every last bit of fuzz or thread which means I generally dont leave it out because it doesnt look great. The front storage pockets are handy for bits of thread and small motions I need handy. I also love being able to quickly iron a portion of fabric without needing the whole ironing board song and dance. Overall, this does exactly what I needed but isnt necessarily the prettiest looking option. Still, it is functional and gets used every time I sew!

I love my new desk! It is nice and sturdy, easy to assemble, and the perfect size offering lots of flat space to sew even in my tiny apartment. I love that it doubles as storage as well with the bookshelf, and that I can always keep my sewing machine out, set up and ready but am able to tuck it away simply by sliding it into the shelving area to keep the space tidy if I want to use the desk for other things. Very smart and sleek design.

Sleek Design and exactly as described. Ready to resume my sewing projects. The length is accurate as i normally used a minimum of 6 yards of fabrics for pattern drafting at once. one needs the aforementionned yardage to design a dress for an average adult and a head covering or a skirt with a top blouse.. the table top can be pulled back securely after project completion or as needed if space is an issue and it still looks Aaamazing. The construction is durable and overall it is a well crafted sewing table and Drafting table 2 in 1 combined. We just assembled this last night. Took 1.5 hours. When I purchased I noticed a lack of certain measurements, so here you go: The center cubbies are 12" wide, the outer cubbies are 13" wide due to a lip in the frame. Top row of cubbies are 12" tall. The top row cubby passthrough total measurement is 21 3/8". The bottom row of cubbies are 10 3/8" deep and 11 3/4" tall. (so they are not full 12x12 cubbies). The drawer's inside dimensions are 11 1/8" x 19 5/8" x 3" (All measurements are not exact and can be in between 5/8 and 3/4" for example. But it's better than what they give you, which is 0). As for the craft table itself, it is everything I expected and look forward to filling it up and using it. The one thing I do want to mention is the drawers. There are no rails/glides at all and to me, not really usable as drawers but more like removable trays (which I personally don't mind). If you pull them out too much, your heart may skip a beat because it seems like everything is just going to fall on the floor. Don't let go until you're sure it will stay in place.

Love this craft table! Finally had the space to get an actual craft table/desk, spent a good bit of time looking and deciding. So glad I went with this one. Nice big work space, love that the shelves open through to both sides. The two drawers are nice size, I’m using one for files and the other for storage (you can easily add or remove the file holders). I’m not using the attached outlet because I decided to have that side not at the wall so there are 3 open holes there but I don’t mind. Instructions were very clear, everything well labeled and organized. As with any to be assembled pieces I suggest you wipe each piece down with damp cloth before assembling-they get dusty in the box. The box is huge and heavy- I selected for them to deliver inside the house for me. I was able to assemble all but the desk top by myself (it was large and heavy so had help lifting that to place it). Took about an hour and half total to assemble. Wry happy with this purchase!

I’m very pleased with this sewing table – it does the job when needed, but stores flat and out of the way the rest of the time. It arrived from Wayfair quickly, and requires no assembly. Once out of the cardboard box, the table is easy to move about. The adjustable platform for the sewing machine is insanely easy to raise and lower by a length of sturdy chain, an eyebolt and a wing nut. I wasn’t able to get my sewing machine to raise high enough, but followed the simple instructions for removing a couple links from the chain, and now the needle plate is level with the rest of the table. If a 69-1/2 year old woman can do that by herself, anyone can. The only thing I wasn’t happy seeing was an ugly sticker adhered to the top of the table with the manufacturer’s name, website and phone number. I didn’t want it there and removing it required a razor tool and Goo-Gone it get it off. This irks the H out of me when companies do this. Give me a break – if this is advertising, who’s going to see it? And if the info is stuck fast to the top of my new sewing table for my “convenience,” wake up – it’s 2017 -- who doesn’t have Google? Rant over/nice table.

The crafting desk arrived quickly. It was wrapped well. The very tip of some edges of the top and some doorframes were not painted or stained appropriately (see pictures). Very slight imperfections, pictures are magnified, and most likely can be corrected easily with a swipe of Old English furniture Polish in dark color along those edges. It’s not a big deal or enough of a problem to send back. I put this together by myself in bits and pieces during a day. I wanted to make sure I put it together correctly the first time, so I wouldn’t have to take it apart and start over. Take your time. As instructions emphasize, put the crafting desk together on your rug. If you study the diagrams in the instructions and lay out all pieces exactly as shown, you will have no problems. Once together it really does look nice. It appears to be flush and stable to the floor. It is sturdy enough to craft on, and weights for shelving are listed. If you go over the weights listed or use the desk to sit on, it’s likely to be damaged. I will be using the desk for my Cricut Maker and sewing machine. For those purposes this desk will be perfect. I will be storing my sewing machine in this desk, along with the embroidery attachment. I’ll also store my Cricut Press in the shelving area. My Cricut Maker will store nicely in another desk of the same color and wood look I’ll be placing next to it. The only con I can foresee is the screws pulling out of the particle boards. It would have been well worth it to have gone the extra yard by securing the screws with metal sheaths embedded glued in the particle boards, at the manufacturing plant.

Very happy with product except for two small items. One of the small metal shelves attached to the back of the large open shelves is unusable. The only available holes to put it places it so close to the large shelf above that u cannot use it at all. Fluke on my piece? And on the large open side that u can put items such as framing backboards, canvases, etc, it would be nice to have a bar midway or closer to top to hold the tall items so they won’t have the opportunity to fall out when the tower rotated. Suggestions for change/fixing but not a game changer. Would still recommend and will enjoy hopefully for years to come.

I do think the price is too high for the quality of the item however there were not many options that suited my needs. The item is very very wobbly from side to side. I have ordered for wobble wedges to see if that helps but I may need to reinforce it with additional hardware. It came with a few damaged pieces but Wayfair was amazing at making sure I got replacements, didn't have to bother with sending the damaged pieces back and followed up to sure I had not further issues afterwards. Excellent service. There is a lot of time needed to put this together but it also allows for customization of the different storage locations to make it what you need it to be. Overall, very pleased with purchase.

Directions were pretty clear for the most part, and it didn't take too long for me to put together by myself. The table is also rather sturdy overall with a considerable amount of space on the tabletop which is one of the main things I need aside from storage and height (the height is perfect). I love the side that has the fabric bins and ribbon holders; however I do wish the other side had been designed differently for the sake of storage. Being that I have it placed against the wall, I don't have the need to use the space in the back to store rolls of gift wrapping paper. I would have preferred the shelves be longer, even if it's only by 2 inches. My biggest complaint is with the drawer. The board that the drawer is attached to do not lay flush (flat) on one side. Because of this, there is a slightly noticeable issue with the alignment. Also, the bottom board is not very supportive. It's supportive enough for basic supplies and things that are lightweight. But, unless it's an iPad or small Macbook, I'm not going to use to store my laptop for fear that the board may begin to sag or come out of place. All in all, this table will get the job done for the time being.
