When it came to decorating for her newest bundle of joy, Gibson, Emily Maynard wasn’t interested in the quintessential pink or blue nursery. Instead, the former bachelorette opted to create a gender-neutral space, in part due to the fact that she and husband Tyler were choosing to keep the gender (a boy!) a surprise until the birth. The mother of three went with a classic black-and-white color scheme, incorporating modern accents, and even some subtle touches of glam and gold. 1. Create Contrast
By painting the walls a light gray and incorporating darker pieces of furniture into the room, Emily was able to create contrast within the space. The black crib, dresser, and side table pop against the neutral paint and prevent the space from looking washed-out, despite the many lighter pieces and linens.
