When the seasons change, it's the perfect excuse to change things up around the house. Spring and summer mean sunshine, bright colors, and florals. But when winter hits, you typically think of sweaters, plaid, and thick, cozy blankets.
Here are two examples of winter-ready couches, styled two completely different ways.
#1 Icy Glam
The first look is styled in gold and aqua, which might not be the first color palette you think of for winter decorating.
The glitzy metallic and shiny silks are reminiscent of icy snowflakes and all of the glittering beauty of a snowy winter day. A furry throw blanket is perfect to cuddle under on cold winter nights.
#2 The Classic
The second is styled more traditionally with bright red accents and plaid. This look is also full of cozy textures: fur, nubby loops, and chenille.
You'll want to snuggle up on this couch with cup of cocoa and never leave!
What I like best about both of these looks is they can last far beyond the holiday season through to the end of winter.
Any color combination can be winterized.
When shopping for winter decor, look for items that have a subtle winter theme, like the stag pillow and the birch tree pillow.
Also look for heavy fabrics with a lot of texture. Think about the clothing you would wear on a cold winter day—sweaters, wool, flannel—and choose similar fabrics to dress your home.
By following these simple tips, you'll have a cozy winter home in no time!
