Whether one believes this or not, every item has a place, even in a small closet. The truth of the matter is that maintaining an organized closet is an ongoing process; however, once you’ve taken the time to fully declutter and assign a place for each item, staying organized and clutter-free will be a lot easier!
Here are a few space-saving closet organization ideas to help maximize your bedroom closet shelves and rod space.
Declutter & Categorize
It is important to know what’s currently in your closet. Decluttering and categorizing is a great way to see your clothing and accessory collection all together and give you an idea on ow to proceed with cleaning out your closet. For example, it is best to create separate categories for different items such as hats, shirts, outerwear, etc. This makes it a lot easier to see what you own and quickly sift through and see what you’d like to donate, keep, or throw away. Once the closet shelves, clothing rods, and drawers (if there are any) are decluttered and organized, now is the time to remove any leftover items and fully clean your closet space. Starting with a blank slate is key, so do a deep clean: Dust and vacuum or mop and even wipe down the closet door.
