This cinematic deep red sets the tone in this traditional living room and game room. Dark tones pair well with luxe textures, like these velvet curtains.

For a dramatic effect, the ceilings were painted the same color or a slightly darker hue. We suggest the Purdy White Dove™ rollers, which provide a smooth, lint-free finish and will give a great performance for many projects.

Tip!
When you are ready to paint, clear the room and cover floors with a drop cloth. Clean the walls with sandpaper, then a sponge. For more details, read our Steps for Painting a Room.

Dark Night blue looks chic against an off-white sofa and pairs perfectly with the wall art and bookshelves. For the smoothest finish, use Purdy Ultra Finish® microfiber rollers.

Add depth to your accent walls with eye-catching accents, like pewter wall lamps and metallic gold accent pillows.

Tip!
If your furniture doesn't match, paint it! We have nine ideas for Updating Your Decor with paint on curtains, baskets, rugs, and more.

The soft mint green in this dining room provides a welcoming ambiance no matter the season.

For an impactful makeover in the kitchen or dining room, repaint the cabinetry. Don't forget to tape the trim and windows, and remove the hardware before you start painting. If you need to remove paint from old projects, check out Purdy's prep tools to get the job done right!

The daring, unexpected pattern in this dining roomworks well because the neutral colors tone them down. Use the White Dove™ roller—it's lint free for an even finish.

For your room, start with a bold color. Then introduce accent hues and neutral colors to balance the room. For help choosing a color scheme, we have you covered!

Tip!
Neutrals belong in everyspace to help even the other colors out. Mexican Sand completes this room with white picture frame crown molding. Read more about Decorating with Neutrals.

With the woodsy backdrop outside this open kitchen, a serene forest green is a natural choice for the accent wall. For high ceilings like this one, invest in an extension pole like Purdy's Power Lock™ to save time and for a flawless finish.

We love the modern take on a cabin kitchen, with the combination of rustic natural materials, concrete countertops, and red, orange, and green decor.

Tip!
If you are unsure about a color, paint it on a poster board and hang it on the wall. Be sure to take a look during different times of day as the light may change the color.

Monochromatic designs can be bold when done right. This minimal color palette isn't feminine, but it brings a touch of glam when paired with chic accents.

The simple design of the furniture mixed with a plush duvet and chandelier completes this elegant look. When in doubt, go with a foolproof color palette. Try one of our favorites!

This no-fuss palette is perfect, but it is especially great for transitioning from a kid room to a teen space. Blue and orange is another go-to for any room. As with all complementary colors, they are most vibrant when combined in the same space.

If you aren't sure about which paint brush or roller to use on your walls, use the Purdy Tool selector. Simply plug in the painting surface material, type of paint, and project for the right tools!

Take note of the lighting before you paint. Natural light will show colors in true form, fluorescent bulbs bring out blue tones, and incandescent bulbs bring out more yellow tones.

The luxurious color scheme in this bedroom works well with the abundance of natural light and ambient light from the table lamps. Make sure crown molding looks polished by painting trim with a reliable brush like the XL™ Elite™ Glide™.

Make sure you use Sherwin-Williams Bathroom Paint. It's specially formulated to resist mold and moisture.

This relaxing Rivulet shade makes the bathroom an oasis, and accents the shower and floor tiles. Trimming the bathroom in white finishes this clean look. For hard to reach areas, like above the shower, use the Purdy Jumbo Mini Roller .

Tip!
Lighter colors are best for the bathroom—steer away from too many colors or patterns. See our Colorful Bathroom Updates for more inspiration.
