DIY Gold Dipped Pumpkins

Add some glimmer to your autumn decorations with these glam gold pumpkins.

I love to use natural and organic elements when decorating for the various seasons. It might be a branch on the mantel that was snipped from a blooming tree outside for spring or perhaps (everyone's favorite) evergreen garland and pine cones at Christmas. For the fall, there's nothing quite like those knotty, misshapen, white, green, and yellow pumpkins that can be found all over farmers markets and pumpkin patches.

I wanted to glam them up with a touch of gold.

To achieve a 'dipped' look (as if these pumpkins were dipped in a vat of that perfect metallic sheen), I taped off the bottom half tightly with painter's tape and spray painted the top half.

I wanted the lines to be crisp, but the shape of the gold 'dipping' a little angular and off-kilter.

I love how they look on our bright teal buffet. They're perfect for stacking to create a little vignette, or to line up casually down the center of a table for a dinner party. Maybe a burlap table runner and eucalyptus leaves to finish it off? Happy fall decorating!
