Flowers are the perfect way to brighten up and add some natural fragrance to any room. In order to decorate with flowers, you are going to need some fabulous vases! Even better, you can simply dress up the plain Jane vases you currently have with this simple DIY.

This homemade color block vase is one of the simplest ways to spice up your floral arrangement. I chose gold to add a touch of sophistication, but any other color works just as well.

Supplies

  • 1 glass vase
  • Spray paint
  • Painter's tape (or washi tape)
  • Tarp or butcher paper
  • Plastic gloves

Instructions

  • Place the tape where you'd like the color to begin on your vase.
  • Cover the entire section you don't want spray painted with the tape, some of the tarp, or butcher paper. Make sure the entire area non-painted area is covered well so the spray paint doesn't drip onto that area.
  • Put on your gloves and spray paint the area you'd like to have colored.
  • Once it's half way dry (after about an hour) and no longer dripping, remove the tape and tarp or butchers paper.
  • Let the vase dry for at least two hours. Be sure it's absolutely dry before placing on any surfaces
