LOVE this composter! It was fairly easy to set up, and looks great in the yard. I love that we're able to use two different sides for two different batches of composting. Have yet to reap the benefits of our composting, but looking forward to what the results yield in the spring/summer! (we live in the Midwest, so composting is a seasonal thing for us) The one thing we've come up against is the doors freezing shut in the winter, so it's a tad harder to put things in it, but we're able to wiggle it open to get scraps in.

We bought this to replace a very old composter. We love this one. Easy to open the doors when your hands are full. The vents are great and are easy to adjust. This is also a bit smaller then our old one and not a eye sore. Very happy. Update great customer service. We broke the handle when the compost froze one night and tried tumbling it the next day. I emailed customer service and they sent me a parts list pdf. I then proceeded to order the wrong part. When I realized my mistake they had already shipped it. The next day I contacted them to order the correct part, and they said to keep the other part just in case. It was nice to speak to a real person, and to get such prompt resolution. Please consider purchasing from this company!

I am trying to reduce trash waste to be more gentle on the environment. The composting is a little bit of work, but I hope will be worthwhile. I definitely feel better that I am not filling the dumps with rotting food. I like the fact that this composter is off ground. Some down sides: 1) When full, hard to turn if you are a weakling like me, 2) When the weather freezes, the doors sometimes freeze shut, 3) In the summer, flys and other bugs obviously attract when you open it, 4) It smells in the spring so move it away from your house. 5) When compost is done, the juice drips out. They need to sell a big tray the width of the composter!, and 6) When composter is full, unloading it is unpleasant. We used a shovel and a rubber tote to dump it. Despite the work and unpleasantries involved, I still prefer composting to sending hundreds of pounds of food waste to fill up the dumps. Trying to do my part for the planet....

First, your projected delivery time seemed quite reasonable, and yet you came through even more quickly. When I notified you that some of the parts needed to construct the device as pictured were absent, you not only sent those parts, but you did so by sending them as a component of an entire similar device from which I could take them… thereby making it possible for me to have an additional compost tumbler at no additional charge. And you bettered what I already thought was a reasonable time for delivery… Again!! You have clearly demonstrated a sincere willingness to provide superior service to your customers. I will always check to see if your company carries an item before checking for availability elsewhere. In addition, I have already promoted Wayfair to friends. Thank you for treating people properly and generously.

It is sturdy and attractive and biodegradable! I used a plastic composter, (the animals took the door off) for many years until we moved back to Georgia. I'm looking forward to many years of using my own compost to improve our clay soil using our kitchen garbage that won't go to the landfill anymore. Every time I plant new flowers or shrubs I can give them rich homemade compost to thrive on for years.

We've had this composted for about 2 weeks and love it so far. I knew going in from reading other reviews that the set up was going to take some time and perhaps be cumbersome but my husband really had no problem setting it up and everything went together rather seamlessly. We installed the divider in and have been only using one side of the tumbler to start and everyday that I go out, either fill with new compostable materials or just simply to rotate what is in it, I can tell the rate of decomposition is so much faster than a stationary bin that you have to rotate by hand with a pitch for or shovel. I'm glad we decided on purchasing a tumbler this time around. It seems very durable and even with the weight of the matter I have already put in the composer I feel it is very sturdy and will last a long while. I would highly recommend this product.

I got this in the Oatmeal color. It’s very pretty and looks great on the counter. I appreciate the inner bucket for ease of transport to the garden composter. I still line it with my biodegradable compost bags so I don’t have to clean it quite as often. The only thing that annoys me is the inner seal on the lid, it keeps popping out when we take off the lid. I probably plan to glue it in place eventually. With that seal in place, it doesn’t look like fruit flies will get in, but we will see come the warmer weather! Very happy with this purchase.

So I have been looking for a bin that I didn't need a bag for, locks and opens easily and keeps the scent in. This does both. I love the handle it makes it easy for my kids to carry it and empty it. It store easily under my sink but looks good on my counter so I don't worry about getting it under the counter because it's an eye sore. Finally found the right bin.

This is a terrific little composter. I've been using it for several months and it does the job. I love that it is on wheels so that I can move it as needed. Set aside a couple of hours to assemble it. The directions are very clear. You will need another set of hands at some point when putting this together. I appreciate that we can make a little difference in reducing methane from landfills, which is over 25 times more harmful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

I bought the main composter and two "add on" composter sets so I could create a 3 bin compost set. These sets were very easy to set up. You can set it up with only one person--I did it by myself. It did take a little wiggling back and forth to get the slats to move down in unison so having a mallet to do this helps. Unfortunately, I didn't have a mallet so I used the back of a screwdriver which worked fine. I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it to others!

First of all, the 48" x 48" x 31" option is not 172 gals, it's 309 gals. The item's description doesn't change when you select the bigger option. As you can see in the photo, it is large...probably used best with a lot of leaves, grass clippings, and yard waste. It was easy to assemble. It took me all of 15 mins to put all the slats and spacers in. On one rail, I had to use a hammer and blocking board while sliding a slat to get the groove smooth enough to put all the other boards in. None of my spacers broke as reported by others but you do need to be gentle when sliding them in as they are thin at the neck. You can make this composter bin by yourself but you'll need another person to move it so if you can build it where you want it, that's best. It's a good price too. It would likely cost a lot more if you tried to build it yourself by buying individual cedar slats and cedar posts.

I just received my composter last week so I cannot share my experience about how it functions now, but I can share about the quality of the plastic and that it's made in the USA. I was surprised about the size and how it looks longer in the photo than in real life. It's small and chunky, so for those with limited yard space, it's ideal. I was not concerned about conserving my yard space so I was looking for something larger. I plan to buy another later this spring to keep up my supply. It seems to roll easily on the tumblers, but can easily slide off. I'm guessing it stays on the tumblers better once there is weight in it. I have begun to add stuff to it. I'm looking forward to experimenting with how fast/slow it takes to make black gold.

This compost bin is the second one I ordered of this style. The other one is the large one with only one section and the larger opening. I know people have said this one turns so much easier, and it certainly does. Maybe because it hold less so weighs less. But they both are easy for me to turn. I think the smaller openings might be a pain when I actually get some finished compost. So far it has been slow going. I also have not used the compost tea in the bottom section, it's on the ground so seems like it is too difficult to get to the spigot. I would have to take the compost roller off and pick up the bottom thing. The compost tea was a deciding factor in my ordering this, but I have found I have no desire to try and get at it. But still the thing looks great and is easy to use and doesn't "junk" up the yard. I am very happy with it.

This is a heavy duty well made composter with a large capacity. I keep it outside my back door and it has not attracted any vermin or wildlife. I live in the woods and have bears and skunks and squirrels so this is an important feature. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because if full it is hard for me to turn, but not impossible. The screw lid is well designed and easy to get on and off. I am happy with the large amount that can be put in this composter. The compost it produces is beautiful and I have made it my "finish" composter, filling it with screened compost from piles in the woods. It takes the bits and finishes them into a deep black rich compost with no odor except a healthy one. I plan on purchasing more as I have much to compost. The screw lid is well designed and easy to get on and off.

So far, so good -- I THINK! It's been a couple of weeks, and its rather difficult to tell whether its actually working or not, especially since we're still experiencing cooler nights. I will say that the unit has a flat side as if it were designed to go against a wall. There was nothing in the description about this, so I did have to find a different spot for it. Also, it comes with a screw, but the written description as to where it should go is vague and not really helpful.

I have been wanting a compost bin for a couple of years but could not find one that I liked or was not too expensive. This one is perfect for me. It's large enough, and the composted dirt can be easily taken out of the bottom when needed. I also like that the compostable materials sit directly on the ground to encourage earthworms. Now I don't feel like I'm wasting food scraps by throwing them in the trash or garbage disposer. It keeps my kitchen trash can from getting so smelly, also. The simple construction was easy to understand. My husband helped me put it together, although I probably could have put it together by myself. The bin is made of sturdy material and should last a long time. And besides that, it was made in the USA--not China. I love this compost bin.
