Best Outdoor Wall Lighting With Reviews

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this wall sconce to replace another internal fixture. Therefore, it was simply a matter of undoing a couple screws and a couple of wire nuts, and a half hour later I was enjoying my new Kichler wall sconce. The instructions couldn’t be more simple, and really aren’t even necessary even if you’ve never replaced an electrical fixture before. It probably would have taken me closer to 15 minutes if I didn’t have a minor issue getting the fixture mounted on the wall plate. Essentially, if the wall plate is too flush to the wall, the screws of the fixture will not catch the lip of the wall plate. I remedied this by using a couple of spacers (not included) to bring the wall plate further away from the wall so the screws from the fixture could catch. It was a minor hiccup, but it did not affect the functioning or elegant look. I am also very pleased with the light distribution coming from the fixture. Even though it has direct up and down lighting, the light rays reflect around well to provide lighting to the front of the fixture as well.

I had a new front door installed and the old '70s lanterns (faux Victorian style on a 4 level split! Ug!) had to go. After searching pages and pages of outdoor lights - I had NO IDEA there were so many choices! - I found these ones that had the simple, square looks that I wanted. My cousin installed them for me very quickly and easily. To change the bulb, there is a little, decorative screw at top and bottom to loosen. The lantern is sturdy and appears well-made. A note on bulbs - I had purchased A19 bulbs (the lantern does not come with a bulb) but the packaging said I needed an E26. Turns out E26 refers to the size of the bottom and A19 is just the shape of the bulb itself. SO a standard bulb base fits in these lanterns, no matter whether it's incandescent, LED, etc. I chose a wet rated 60W LED bulb with 2500K. It's the Kelvin or K that determines how warm or cool the light is. I didn't want blindingly white light but also needed enough light for it to be practical and light up the stairs at night. 2500K is just perfect. I now want to replace the hideous lantern at the back of my house with the same lantern....

I had been looking for outdoor lights that I lied for many years and suddenly, there they were. The front door is a black rectangle. , as are the sconces. Looks as though they were made to order. They were also inexpensive as I found them in your outlet section. Amazing, I have found several items on your site that were exactly what I needed. Each item was perfectly suited to the design,. It looks beautiful. I could not have done better for 5x the price. It pleases me to look at the picture this creates Looks great. I feel that my hours of searching on the computer have paid off. They are also unique as the majority of sconces on the block are round and sit beside rectangular doors. . This combination is not as serene and pleasing to the eye.

Love this light. Metal is a pretty good gage and seems very sturdy. The item was shipped extremely well and was received in perfect condition. At 38.99, I really loved it. I was wanting to buy more for a new house we are building- like 16 more. So I have been watching the price, and when I saw the ads for a Labor Day lighting sale, I was planning to buy them. To my disappointment, the “SALE” was a price increase of at least 6 per light. Very sad to see that. Hoping there is some kind of notification where it will notify me when the price goes back down, or maybe try to find the same item at another website.

These are very nice lights. I mounted them upside down on my house for a better look. I ordered 5 of these lights and several of them had loose glass. Packing is not exceptional, but adequate to avoid breakage. NOTE: There are a couple of items advertised on the Wayfair site that are not correct. 1) The specs say the mounting base is 4.50" wide by 6.00" tall. The actual bases measure approx. 4.50" wide by 6.75" tall. This caused some issues in my installation as my vinyl siding mounting blocks measure 5.00" wide by 6.00" tall. 2) Lamps specify 60W bulbs maximum, not 100W as advertised. My only other comment would be changing the bulbs is a little more of a pain, as small Philips head screws are used, in place of the customary stud / finger nuts used on other products. All in all, very happy with the look of these lights.

Just what we were looking for! We purchased two of these lights to replace traditional wall sconces in our family room. They are light weight, which makes them easy to hold up while installing in high places. The finish is slightly rustic looking, so if you want a more "perfect" appearance, this may not be the light for you. Each fixture can take up to a 100 watt bulb. We used the LED equivalent. The fixtures are also dimmable, which is perfect for adjusting the amount of light you need. We are very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this product.

I decide to use this beautiful fixture in my stairwell as the sconce. It’s minimal, black and matches the hardware on my new stair rail perfectly (I went with square shaped handrail anchors). I only have 1 sconce in the stair hall and needed something with some visual weight to fill the space (the previous sconce just looked tiny and undersized). I also need a 1 bulb fixture that could throw some light (not fun guessing where the next step is because of all the shadows). I love that I could put an interestingly shaped lightbulb in the fixture (I got the long, cylinder tube like show in the web images). I choose to take the glass sides out, then I only have to dust the light bulb and not clean 4 panels of glass every month. Overall, would highly recommend!

Great looking and well made lamp. The packaging is well thought-out, as other reviewers mentioned. My only beef is installation, but I am probably an exception based on the weird mounting platform that sits over my vinyl siding. I retrofitted a light that takes a single large thumbscrew, and the electric work box is not exposed. That meant the mounting screws had to be the exact-right length to accept the two tiny thumbscrews and both sets provided were too long. About two hours were spent shortening and trial-fitting them to the exact depth. Frustrating.

This light replaced on the exiting pole. It comes on at about 9:45 each evening and I never see it on when I get up. I know in the winter it will be on longer as the sunrise gets later in the morning. Looks so nice. I do have to paint the pole but I have flowers around it at the base so will have to wait for an Indian summer day to do the painting. It sits directly out my kitchen window so I see it all the time and really like the way it dresses up the front yard. The gift card I just ordered for the bride and groom will probably get one and they loved the one I got and they need one. Continue to enjoy your products.

Ordered two in the brown to go with our home. Replacing one that was just a spotlight that looked tacky and ugly... and the other that was a rusted, cheap and ugly faded brass. Such a small change, that made a world of difference to the look of our home. I really like them and now they match and provide just the right amount of light at both doors. Fairly easy to install, especially when just replacing an existing fixture. We also got a custom mailbox in the same finish with our house number and monogram letter, which completed the look. Well packed and arrived quickly. A great little update for a classy finishing touch for the outside of our home.

Nice unit, and wayfair was really good about getting a replacement when the first was defective... (I ordered 4 of them). They all work very well and consistently go on/off at the same time and brightness. I coupled it with a dimmable LED and it works fine. The only advice I would give to installers is to use a deep box, not a pancake. There is wiring for the light and the sensor and it was too much to fit in a small space. Also be careful not don't over tighten the mounting screws.

Love the look of these lights on our home. We purchased 2 for our front door and they light very well and we ended up purchasing another for our breezeway. These lights arent big and bulky, but they do more than enough for a beautiful look and fantastic lighting. I wanted a clean farmhouse look, but not the same exact shape or design every other home has in the country. We placed LED light bulbs in them and WOW do they light everything up. I would absolutely buy them again or tell you to purchase if youre interested. Another thing I like is the ease of dusting them or lightly wiping them with a damp rag.

This outside light is gorgeous. Our home is a New England cape that sits on 4 acres with white siding and black shudders. This light adds a "welcome" very unique to the entire property. The glass is textured that adds a unique ambience. They are made well. My advice is to check every box to ensure all the necessary parts are complete and the instructions are available. The delivery was efficient and the packing was well done.

I purchased the Imperial Black style for our basement bathroom remodel and absolutely love them!! They have a light antique look to them with the copper undertone, exactly what I needed with the rest of my oil rubbed bronze finishes. I did not use an Edison bulb, but rather a Philips smart bulb for adjustable light, and it looks fantastic. Our electrician was able to wire these in series back to one switch and he said they were very easy to install. For scale, vanity and mirror are 60", so these lights are pretty big, bold and beautiful. Only Con: Since they are down lights, not much light gets above these fixtures. You can see in my picture that they create a clear line of light. For my basement bathroom they work just fine, and it doesn't bother me. May just need to keep that in mind for other installs or maybe add more overhead lighting or mirrors. But even with this, I absolutely love them. Great buy!

We love these light fixtures. We bought 3 to install above two different garage doors on our connected outbuildings. Our intent was to better marry a 1991 addition to a 1950ish barn - the dark bronze fixture with copper-colored interior worked great with our design and color-scheme. The dusk-to-dawn feature works perfectly, and it’s ultimately why we purchased from Wayfair - they had both the aesthetic AND the dusk-to-dawn feature. We opted for bulbs with less lumens so that the three fixtures would sweetly glow instead of intensely lighting up our property - and to keep our starry skies dark. The light installation was finished with mounting plates created for our specific metal siding profile. After lots of searching, these mounting plates were purchased separately from Everett Manufacturing. They make high quality affordable mounting plates that arrive powder-coated and ready to install. It helped make our install a breeze and professional-looking. We could not be happier with our lights.

This light is generously sized, has great classic looks and is an attractive fixture. Large scale fixtures of its proportions in this price point aren’t super common, which was the reason for my purchase. Despite its pleasing aesthetics, I have mixed feelings about the light. After purchasing a set of exterior sconces from Pottery Barn for a different area of the house, the quality of this fixture doesn’t quite compare. Assembling the glass panels was a pain and the rudimentary instructions had no written directions, only a labeled diagram that was hard to follow. The included mounting hardware takes a lot of tinkering to get it to sit just flush with the brick wall, whereas the Pottery Barn fixtures (which are heartier and required no assembly) were a breeze to mount over the fitted mounting plate. There is definitely a quality difference between this fixture and the PB ones for being nearly the same price. This fixture is great and fulfilled my needs, but for its reasonable, (yet not inexpensive) price I find myself expecting a bit more quality and thoughtfulness to its construction and design. It has left me feeling as though I overpaid for it by some margin. I may amend my review when I finally get the light up but I am waiting on additional hardware to be sent from the manufacturer. Hanging a light fixture isn’t a complex endeavor and getting this product affixed to my house has been a frustrating ordeal between the undersized existing electrical box and suboptimal mounting hardware.

The wall lantern is 21.75” tall including the curled arch at the top. If you do not attach the arch (which is an option) the fixture will be shorter. Take this into account with your purchase. The glass is beveled which is nice and adds quality to the fixture appearance. I am placing this fixture next to a standard size door and the fixture will look substantial with or without the curled arch. The fixture is totally open at the bottom which is a drawback for bugs and other pests. This is why I deducted a star. Overall, the fixture looks great and is a fairly priced option. At first glance they look very similar to higher priced fixtures. Using led bulbs in the fixture adds plenty of light for a single standard door.

I ordered three of these lights to be used by each of my three garage doors. One of them arrived broken and Wayfair quickly resolved the issue by immediately sending another one out to me. I really appreciated the ease and speed in obtaining a replacement since I had these lights installed by a handyman. He was at my house installing wood-look porcelain tile in my mudroom and would only be there for the week. Since I was replacing existing light fixtures, he said that they were very easy to install. The lanterns are gorgeous, the perfect size alongside my garage doors and they seem to be sturdy. I ordered the black color and they are a nice, solid black. The metal seems to be thinner and lighter than my previous lanterns (loved them) which needed to be replaced after lasting for 17 years. I am hoping that these hold up well in the extreme weather conditions we have in Chicagoland. These lanterns give off a nice amount of light as well. Overall, I would recommend them.

This lantern is gorgeous!!! The white is somewhat an offwhite color, which I prefer over stark white. It seems quite sturdy, well constructed and I love the detail. I hadn't seen a porch light with candlelights until this one. I love its uniqueness, plus I need extra lighting on my deck. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong style. I need the lantern to sit above the arm post rather than under it. Totally my mistake, I measured but failed to pay attention to this feature. Therefore, I'm reordering the correct one.

I bought three of these I was so happy. The finish is beautiful and they are so easy to change the light bulbs. Most outdoor light fixtures you have to take a part, loose screws, and put the puzzle back together for it to look right. These are so simple to change, the bottom is open for you to just reach into. Also, they say 60 watt max, but have no fear because LED tech nowadays allowed me to put the equivalent of a 100 watt bulb that only uses 12 watts, so don't let that scare you! These are wonderful fixtures!
