This light is so gorgeous and really dresses up my first floor. I had to use a recessed lighting conversion kit (i was replacing a recessed light), and that was a pain. Once the conversion happened though, assembly and installation were very quick and easy. I ran into some trouble getting the mounting screws in, since the little white cover that came with the conversion kit had a lip on it that blocked me from being able to drill in the short screws provided. Luckily, I had some longer screws lying around. Unluckily, theyre nickel so you can see them. Id recommend planning ahead and getting some dark, longer screws if youve got any sort of lip to get around. That has nothing to do with the quality of this lamp though. And yes, you can do this yourself! Get a phillips head screwdriver, a drill (just in case you need it like i did for the mounting screws), and a ladder.
When the sun hits the crystals, I get beautiful little rainbows on my floor and walls, and at night, the light casts a really pretty pattern. I chose soft white Edison style LED bulbs. The lamp looks really expensive and Im so happy with my purchase.
