SO Beautiful!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sometimes fans get the job done but can be somewhat of an eyesore. This fan gets the job done but also adds such a beautiful focal point to the room. We had quite the hard time deciding where to put it, because it's just so lovely. We debated the bedroom, the dining room, the kitchen, and the great room. We settled on the great room, because we felt that it would add a beautiful esthetic feeling to the room. My husband and I really feel that beautiful lighting is essential in a room. This fan is absolutely gorgeous! The crystals give it a chandelier feeling, and they sparkle when they lights are on. The ambience is further enhanced with a dimmable feature. The decorative portion of the fan is like a piece of artwork, it is just so beautiful, However, function is important too! It functions exceptionally well, with its reversible motor, reversible blades, and its three speed option. The blade colors are also rich in tone and compliment the crystals in the fixture. We have a large great room, and it is performing well with the circulation of air. Honestly, it's a show stopper. It's the first thing our friends have noticed since my husband installed it. We've had so many compliments on it. Installation was easy, and it included the bulbs, which was a plus. It took my husband just over an hour to do it. I aided him with holding it in place. He stated that it was a breeze to install. If you would like a fan that is far more than just a fan, and one that adds beauty to the room, you will love this one! It's fully functional but also a statement piece!

Nice fan, not so good light, poor instructions
I spent a lot of time looking for just the right fan. I like the contemporary look with the distressed koa. It's a lot darker than what I expected from the pictures so be aware that pics don't accurately reflect the dark brown color. It took me about 1.5 hours to assemble and install, including the built in wall control. Directions were not good...verbiage on one page, diagrams on the next page. Lots of info left out that you need to figure out on your own, or look for videos on YouTube. The fan clicked on med speed so I ended up taking off cover and finding a way to wedge the receiver so it wouldn't move. There are no parts or instructions on how to secure it, so at higher speeds it rattles unless you find a way to secure it. I used some felt pads that are designed for chair legs..felt pads with sticky on one side. Overall it works great now, just disappointed in the color of the wood, and the LED light is too in-your-face compared with the fixture itself. Oh...I also learned you can use both the remote control and wall control...just make sure both are set to the same dip switch settings, and after setting the dip switches on the remote control be sure to remove/re-install the battery. Then power on the fan and hold Stop button for a few seconds. Do this for both wall control and remote and it works great.

Looks nice in my seven-year-old son's bedroom. The bedroom is 15' by 11', and this fan is a good size. It puts out a decent amount of air even with a 5" rod, although you probably already know that 36" blades are not going to make a large area of wind. The retractable blades are cool, and they seem to work well. It's been installed for less than a week at this point, and it was a fairly straightforward install that I did myself with the help of my father-in-law. It comes with 5" and 10" downrods. The light has a cheap-ish plastic cover, but it doesn't look bad. I probably wouldn't want the light as the only light source in the room, as it leaves the ceiling a bit dark. I'm using it in conjunction with four recessed lights. It recommends EITHER using a wall switch OR using the remote but not both. We have ours hardwired to use the remote, and it works well. I will say that the unit beeps when you turn it on or off, so that may or may not matter to you depending on how quiet you need to be at night. It also has a nice hidden feature that I didn't see on the site or in the instruction manual. While the light is not dimmable per the instructions, you can choose the light color temperature with the remote, or you can choose a dim mode. If you double-press the light button on the remote, it will cycle through three different temperatures or one lower-brightness setting. I would guess the temperatures were something like 2700K, 3500K, and 5000K, while the dim mode is probably at 3500K at maybe 40-50% brightness. My three-year-old stumbled upon this feature when she hijacked the remote and started pressing the button repeatedly. Overall I recommend it.

Timeless style and elegance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Originally, we were going to use this fan in our home office. We currently have some high-end elan fixtures, which is a division of Kichler. This fan was suited to be a perfect and elegant compliment to the chrome teardrop lights that we absolutely love. Once the fan arrived though, we noticed that it is labeled as suitable for wet locations. At that point, we knew that we had to use this in our pool area. We have a pole barn with a nice overhang that covers a hot tub and is adjacent to our pool. In the summer, the still air can really keep this area too warm to use. With a ceiling fan, it will help regulate the still air and keep this area more useful. Another reason we felt this fan belonged near our barn is its forward-looking design. One of the hottest trends in antique stores and flea markets is old airplane props. For whatever reason, the fan gives the impression of a vintage airplane prop with a twist towards the future. It's very cool and matches our retro-trendy style. Even though the area was not equipped for a ceiling fan before, it did have an existing light fixture. Because the housing to the light fixture is aluminum and the siding on the overhang is aluminum, it was easy to install this fan. Anyone who has installed a fan before would have no trouble. For someone who has not installed a fan from scratch, I believe the task would be achievable with a little bit of reading and some patience. One cool thing about this fan is that it can be used with or without the light. We chose to use both. We leave the LED light on all the time for security and as a nightlight for those evening hot tub dips. I would buy this fan again without thinking twice. The value is much better than builder's grade product, especially considering the smooth appearance.

The only thing I really have to complain about here is that I'm the one who made a mistake at the beginning and had to take the whole thing apart. Seriously, though, I don't know how they could have made the installation any easier. Keep in mind that I was replacing a fan, not installing a new one. The old fan didn't reverse, and it had three speeds. A "barely moving" speed, a "this almost makes a difference" speed, and "ludicrous" speed. When the fan was on ludicrous speed, it made a a steady buzzing/humming noise that slowly pulsed. It was barely audible, but it was the kind of noise that drives a person insane. You want a tension headache? Try sitting for a few hours under a fan blowing ludicrous speed with a quickly pulsating but barely audible humming nose. Oh, and the thing took candelabra bulbs. It was a pain to find bulbs that would fit in the fixture let alone bulbs that were bright enough to, you know, actually light the dining area. When I installed the new fan, it made a clicking noise. That was me failing to secure the wires properly before I put the whole thing together. Easy fix. It just required me to essentially assemble the fan twice. When it was all said and done, I ended up with a nice fan. The reversible switch is easy to access, and it gives off quite a bit of nice lighting. My dining room is no longer a gloomy, dungy place. The three speeds on this fan are far more useful. The lowest speed is at "I notice this thing is running, but barely". The middle speed is a "relaxing and peaceful breeze". The top speed is "ludicrous" speed, but it doesn't hum. In fact, the only sound I hear when the fan is on ludicrous speed is the sound of the air whooshing by my ears. Oh, and the special touch: There is actually a symbol of a light and a symbol of a fan on the two different pull chains. I could never figure out which was which on the old fan. Thank goodness for small favors. I'm a fan of this fan. The quality and the ease of assembly have blown me away.

Perfect Rec Room Fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fan was chosen for our very narrow linear rec room. The reason why we liked this at first was the lower blade count for the size of the fan. The LED light provided a nice soft glow on the lowest setting and then lit the entire room with a diffused brightness. We made sure to get a dimmable option. The favorite feature ended up being the remote settings. It wasn't until we brought it home and started reading the manual that I realized this fan was really designed with extreme thought for convenience, safety, and security. The two options that I've never seen on any other fan: 1. 1min light shut off delay - allowing you to exit the room without crashing into anything 2. random light on aka Home Shield - for all those leaving on vacation. The light randomly turns on to simulate someone is home! Other features I found extremely convenient: -Three separate fan speed buttons to change with only one press of a button vs pressing multiple times to cycle through to the right setting. -Variable breeze - to simulate nature, so neat and under appreciated! The only thing that is somewhat of a nuisance in our California climate was the reverse switch located at the top of the fan vs on the remote. I'd say for most occasions, we can get away with the air movement in either direction so likely not something that would have impacted our decision. Overall, definitely recommending this fan for the quiet operation, quick install with easy instructions and all included parts, and the overloaded features in just the remote that can be mounted on the wall for added convenience.

Honeywell Xeres-Deserves a Spot on Your Shortlist
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honeywell Xerxes 70" Ceiling Fan: From Kid-on-Christmas-Morning Excitement to Homeowner Must-Have Let's face it, unwrapping boxes as an adult just isn't the same as it was as a kid. Gone are the days of franticly tearing through wrapping paper to unearth the latest toy (adulting is all about the excitement of a new... ceiling fan?). But let me tell you, the Honeywell Xerxes 70" ceiling fan rekindled that childhood sense of wonder. Maybe it's the sheer size (70 inches!), or the promise of improved comfort in your home, but this fan had me genuinely excited about adulting for a change. Installation: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work This big boy is definitely a two-person job. The instructions are clear, but safety should always be a priority when dealing with electrical wiring. Here's a tip: before diving in, gather all the tools and parts you'll need and lay them out like a game plan. Having a helper pass you parts while you tackle the installation can significantly speed up the process, especially for DIY novices. Remember, installing a large ceiling fan can be a challenge, so take your time and don't hesitate to enlist an extra hand. Industrial Chic Meets Modern Function Once installed, the Xerxes fan truly elevates your space. Its industrial design boasts a striking matte black finish, but the true beauty lies in the reversible blades. You can choose between a sleek black look or a more rustic matte black and ash combination to perfectly complement your decor. The frosted white glass light kit adds another touch of sophistication, making this fan a focal point that enhances both form and function. Comfort at Your Fingertips (or Voice Command!) But the Xerxes fan's beauty is more than skin deep. This baby is a powerhouse when it comes to climate control. It boasts multiple speed settings to keep you cool and comfortable during sweltering summer days. And come winter, you can reverse the direction to push warm air down, creating a cozy haven in your living space. Here's the best part: controlling all of this comfort is as easy as pressing a button on the included remote (batteries are even included, saving you a trip to the store!). Want to take convenience to the next level? The Xerxes is compatible with smart home systems (with an additional gadget purchase). Imagine yelling at Alexa to turn on the fan when you're buried under a mountain of blankets on a chilly night – pure bliss! The Bottom Line: A Worthy Investment for Your Home The Honeywell Xerxes 70" ceiling fan is a fantastic investment for your home. It's a stylish statement piece that provides exceptional comfort throughout the year. Plus, the multiple finishes ensure you can find the perfect match for your existing décor. If you're searching for a ceiling fan that offers both aesthetics and functionality, the Honeywell Xerxes definitely deserves a spot on your shortlist.

Looks awesome and has great air movement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this antique, beautiful detail, giant ceiling fan in my house when we bought it and I loved it. Over time it started making some funny noises and started getting slower and slower. One day I turned it off and it never wanted to start again. I guess it was just it’s time to retire. I saw this one and thought, “Well, it’s not as pretty but it’ll do” Mind you, I was judging it by the picture and not the actual fan itself. As I started pulling the parts out of the box I noticed how much nicer it really looked than I originally thought. The clear globes won’t be water drop design is actually very pretty when it’s all put together. I’m a “Do-it-yourself” kinda gal but I was a little intimidated by the thought of installing this by myself. My ceiling is about 14’ high so being on a ladder that tall was already nerve wracking enough. I looked through the instructions, lined out everything in order on my island counter and went after it. Taking the old one down was pretty easy and after disconnecting the wires, it made way more sense. The hardest part was figuring out how to hold it up and connect the wires at the same time. SURPRISE!!! They already thought of that. There is a safety cable that you connect to the ceiling if beam or wherever you choose to anchor to that if the things slips or anything while twisting wires it won’t fall. Yayyyyy. Okay so I got the wires twisted, mounted the fan base, added the blades, globes, and bulbs. Flipped the switch and and VOILA! It worked. I was so excited lol. I love how quiet it is and how easy it was to balance. It moves a ton of air on even the slower speeds. What I don’t like is the pull chain placement. There is a ton of room between the globes but they chose to put them so the chain actually touches them. If you can’t get a good balance you’ll hear “tink, tink, tink….” From the chain hitting the glass. That can be super annoying. Fortunately, I was able to control that. Other than that I love my new fan!
