Overall I really like this bunk bed. Color is a bright white. Some of the pieces appeared less painted, as in I could see the wood grain behind the paint as the piece could have used another coat, but once the bed was together this was completely unnoticeable. Some pieces also came a tiny bit damaged but they were all hidden once together. I thought I was going to have to add slats or a bunkie board because of the distance between the slats but because of how they are attached and the material that runs down them to attach them this was not necessary at all. I have 6 in memory foam mattresses on mine that work out really nice. The bottom bunker might bunk their head- but this is true for any bottom bunker on a bunk bed. The negatives for me are the side opposite of the desk is unfinished, it just has black backing on the side so it limits where the bed can be placed from an aesthetic perspective it basically has to be in a corner if you don’t want to see the black backing side. The product is amazing, the waiting for it to arrive was awful. It took about 12 hours to put it together (mostly by myself – I'd say the 3-person recommendation is actually accurate to complete it in a reasonable timeframe). It holds up well. The instructions leave a few pieces out which led to my wife putting a few pieces together backwards, so that took time to undo. But overall, it was worth it. My son is 2.5 and he will be able to use this for years to come. He absolutely loves going up the ladder and down the slide. It looks exactly as pictured. The slide has some speed to it, so we put pillows on the railing while he gets used to it. He's obsessed with basketball, and I can tell the hoop will hold up as well. And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with absolutely no extra hardware incase a piece is broken or gets lost during set up, not a single extra bolt, screw or wooden dowel, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase!!. Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. There is a metal bar that runs under top bunk, that I purchased pipe foam insulation to cover it as I knew it was just a matter of time before a child hit there head really hard on it. While solid wood, it does indent/mark easily, I have two rambunctious boys who quickly put multiple dents in it and cracked the wood where the ladder attaches by pulling up on the ladder, but probably sonething similar would happen with any bed that we got!. We recently updated my mother's bedroom, and one of the biggest changes was purchasing this Twin over Full bunk bed that she had been wanting. Overall, we are very pleased with it. The bed is solid and sturdy for the price, and the color looks great in the room. Assembly wasn't particularly difficult, but there are a lot of pieces, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of space to organize everything before you start. We also added a few extra slats for additional mattress support, which worked out well. For the lower full-size bunk, we purchased the 9" Plush Cooling Gel Hybrid Mattress by Zinus, and it's been comfortable for her to sleep on.
