My only drawback was the overall thickness was less substantial than I expected. That said, the appearance makes up for a lot. the pattern and color are beautiful, and it gives the room the exact look I was hoping for. From what I can tell so far, it’s not shedding much at all and it didn’t have any weird smell or shedding right out of the package, which was a huge plus. I was able to get this on sale for around $105, which I think is a great value. At the current ~$200 price point, I personally wouldn’t repurchase. It lays fairly flat, but you’ll definitely want a rug pad or some heavier furniture on it to keep it from sliding around. The "Dove" color is in between tan and gray. I would call it taupe. I have not seen another rug like this. It seems to be made very well and I had no issues with the fringe. Normally I don't like a fringed rug (OCD) but the fringes are sewn onto a kind of wire? so they don't flop around and they don't look like they will fray. If you love jute or sisal look but don't want the smell or the shedding, it's a great alternative. My only knock is that it's very thin, but it's made for outdoors so it would be perfect for a dining room! It's in my guest bath now but I will be moving it to my kitchen. Because it's so flat, it won't be a tripping hazard and I don't think I'll have to worry about stains. I will be purchasing more in other sizes and that says a lot because I'm usually very picky about my rugs. For once I'm happily surprised, not disappointed! I bought this rug two years ago in a 5x7 and have wanted it in a bigger size for an adjacent room for a long time. I finally found it at a great price here on wayfair. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. It rolled out flat immediately and has no smell. I’m not experiencing any shedding. It’s soft under my feet and the color variations and texture are just gorgeous. It will match any neutral decor. I don’t have a rug pad under it.
