Rug is beautiful. Lays pretty flat right away with a felt rug pad underneath. It is on the thinner side so you definitely want a felt rug pad. It is actually pretty soft to the touch (way softer than a jute or sisal rug). It doesn’t smell at all and was packaged well with several moisture absorbing packets.
