This gate is perfect and has features I didn’t even know I needed! I originally bought a pet gate from another site, that just had the bars, and no plexiglass. Unfortunately, my cat kept trying to shove his face through, and I was worried about him hurting himself. The latch could also be opened if he were to jump up and pull down on it, and the gate had a lot of play in the middle, so it would wobble back and forth. I returned it and got this gate. It took care of all of the issues I had regarding the first one! No more fear of my cat trying to push his face through the bars, the latch is cat proof, and it is much more stable! I didn’t even have to add the bonus hardware half way up to add to the stability. I also love the added feature of the door swinging both ways, as it makes it easier to keep my cat back who tries to get out at times when I am coming through the gate. Luckily this works for us. But a word of caution for those who have crown molding, I didnt measure from there and we probably should of gotten something thats shorter in width. It comes with an 8 bar (about ~16.5), 3 bar (about ~6.5) and 2 bar (little less than~3.5) extensions so something to keep in mind if you have a spaces in between those measurements. Luckily we can just prop it up on the walls with the 8 bar, we were able to get it to fit snug with a piece of cardboard. So still works for us! While the distance between each bar can be adjusted, we highly recommend that the bars are adjusted to be less than 1.8” from each other to prevent cats from squeezing through the sides of the gate.

I think this is a great item. It is the second one we purchased. We have 3 American Curl cats, curious & loveable but also terrors, zoomers, wire chewers and mischief makers. Two brothers and a sister who can not have total run of the house. The gates let us keep them in the kitchen great room area and they cannot jump or climb over the gates. I would highly recommend this product. It looks good, lets the pets see you and works so much better than the makeshift gates we tried to construct. Bought the first one for entrance to kitchen from garage hallway and when I realized that this gate would fit in the hall to the bedrooms it was a done deal. Thank you for a great gates.. Barbara.
