This is a very soft area rug! I got a pad for underneath it but you probably wouldn’t need one. The cats LOVE it. This rug is soft and low pile. It was packaged really well and did lay flat after only one day. I have this rug in my kids room, and I have had to vacuum it a lot, and it has held up well.
