It is very heavy duty, the wood used seems durable and of high quality. The table was superr heavy. We decided to buy a bench to go with it and leave the leaf in all the time. Could probably use one extra chair but all in all we love it. It was also easy to build! Took me about five hours to put this whole set together, not bad for a 70 year old woman. I made a mistake on the first chair, had to disassemble and redo. My fault even though the instructions were a little sketchy. The chairs were a little time consuming, the bench and table were a breeze. Included in this time was cleanup, cutting up the cardboard and using the plastic coverings as trash bags for the styrofoam and small pieces. Inspect table and chairs carefully asap. Mine came with multiple cracks in various pieces. Box came all taped up. Dining set is pretty. Not what I thought I was ordering. Seems cheaply made. Seats are compact so you can sit closer to the table while eating. Feels like plastic finishing even when it says wood. Quality and color of seats are more yellowish than cream and seems to be able to show dirt or stain if you spill something. Top is cut up into small wood and not a solid surface.
