This is a gorgeous well made bed I purchased for my master bedroom. It is very high and wide so I suggest measuring before purchasing; also it is extremely heavy so I added Wayfair assembly. The color is a soft dove gray with some dimension/texture as you would expect for wood variation, I wouldn’t say it is distressed. I believe it is composite wood and not solid wood. I really love the fabric center panel which has a silky soft feel. The only drawbacks are that the head panel outline isn’t a gold/brass color but just textured wood and that the frame is soft and is easy to ding if you bump or drop anything on it. At first I wrote a great review for this product, however, I'm CHANGING my review! PLEASE READ! This product has cracked and separated in SEVERAL places on the headboard! We have a brand new home. This isn't from the air being "too dry". We are SOOOOO incredibly disappointed! We can't get an exchange or refund. We've only had this bed for 7 months. The cracks started about 3 months ago. We didn't think too much of it and thought it added to the "distressed" look. The cracks have gone far beyond "distressed" and are actually separating. I might add, we are old so this isn't from "romping". This product AND Wayfair receive a 1 star. Spent a LOT of money for a defective piece. Very solid and sturdy bed! It sits rather high so if you have a thick mattress keep that in mind. It turns out we didn't need a box spring, just a bunkie board. We chose the white distressed model. The distressed look was very minimal but it's still a beautiful piece. Delivery took a while but we were feeling excited and impatient to receive our new bed. Very happy with our selection!. Juli. We bought the Complete Bed, Queen size in brown. First of all, I had questions when buying it and the customer service person I spoke to was super helpful. Wayfair set her up to work out of her home and she gave me the reassurance that this would be a quality bed and that everything she has seen from Wayfair has been really nice. Secondly, the price was incredibly reasonable. I was looking at beds from large furniture stores and all were double the price. Yes, you have to put it together and the furniture stores would do that for you, but if you're willing to do a little work you can save a lot of money. The directions weren't great, but it was very easy to figure out what to do. And the bed looks fantastic. The brown stain is what I wanted and it looks great in my son's bedroom.
