I have several seating areas and have ordered my share of umbrellas so i think i have a pretty good sense of comparison and quality. This umbrella is about one of the best I have gotten so far. The construction is far superior and the fabric is thick and blocks the strong sun. For the very first time the pole fits snug into my base (I used my own not the one the umbrella came with). Oh my! This umbrella is HUGE. I misread the description and thought that there would be a base with it but you have to either buy a weighted based or a mount that goes into the ground. I finally located the base that this umbrella is compatible with (you fill it with water) but I’m inclined to think it may not be enough counterbalance when the umbrella is in its full extended version. The solar light provides plenty of light after dark. The motor is powered by the same battery that runs the light. No electric! All solar!
